Often we don’t have much advance notice when we need one. Esther is sharing a fabulous masculine sympathy card today in a fall theme with a lot of texture and rich, deep fall colors.

This is such a perfect masculine card that could serve so many different purposes with a simple swap of sentiments.

That rich woodgrain background was dry embossed with Lumber by Tim Holtz – 10% OFF NOW!

TIP: Esther tells us how she achieved that gorgeous woodgrain look.

The background is kraft card stock embossed with the 3D Lumber folder and then inked over with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain distress ink. I spritzed a bit of water onto it to get the color to run, and then heat set it.

The leaves are cut using Skeleton Leaves by Tim Holtz (Sizzix) – 10% OFF NOW!

They are resting atop a tag cut with Tag Collection by Tim Holtz (Sizzix) – 10% OFF NOW!

The sentiment is from Sympathy Sentiments Set 2 by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The sentiment is cut with a die from Standard Circles by Spellbinders.

Esther used VersaFine Clair ink in Fallen Leaves.
