With Flag Day on June 14 and the 4th of July soon to follow, it is time to celebrate America the Beautiful! Judy created this stunning layered card commemorating our beautiful country and flag by combining a couple of stamp sets, die sets and paper designs with absolute perfection. This card yields high impact yet is a matter of simply layering up piece upon piece to achieve this lovely result.

Absolutely stunning and a beautiful tribute to both our flag and country.

The flag is from The Red, White & Blue by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The sentiment is from Patriotic Sentiments by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The stars were cut using Stars Five by Spellbinders.

The plaid border strip was cut using Simple Plaid by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).

Judy stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers.

AND NOTE: Judy cut the plaid square layer OFF from square – the plaid is not cut square, it’s off kilter. Honestly, it never would have dawned on me to cut a plaid “crooked” and I absolutely love it. Sometimes it’s just the little things! My sewing background tells me plaids have to be cut straight and matched – LOL – NOT SO!
