Time for Blog Candy!!!

Yes, it IS time for Blog Candy –and you can all thank the wonderful ladies at Flourishes for that!!! I had no intentionof doing Blog Candy at this point as my Blog has only been here for a week and I’m still trying to figure this all out — LOL!!! But Jan Marie, Nancy and Sharon at Flourishes figured it was a good time for Blog Candy – so here we go!!!

Compliments of Flourishes the winner will receive the stamp set entitled Peace!!! What a wonderful set — I just love it!! I have several cards on my Blog using that set — and it is just the most perfect set for beautiful, elegant and quick Christmas cards!!! Then to round out the gift package I am adding some large envelopes since we all know I LOVE to do large sized cards! So, your entire gift package will consist of:

  • Peace Stamp Set by Flourishes
  • 12 – 6 x 6 white square envelopes
  • 12 – 5.5 x 5.5 ivory square envelopes
  • 12 – 8.75 x 5.75 gold foiled ivory envelopes
  • 12 – 6 7/8 x 5 1/8 gray parchment envelopes with 12 cards to match

To enter in the drawing you merely have to post below, answering this question: When you are cruising the stamping Blogs, what is it about a Blog that makes you want to stay and look a bit longer? Your answer could be anything at all — but here are some things that pop into my mind — the style/quality of the cards, that there are short instructions or that there are lengthy and detailed instructions, the layout of the Blog, the colors of the Blog on your screen, the size of the print, the size of the pictures, the fact that there either is or isn’t a lot of personal chit chat, family and personal photos, etc. I’m just really curious — what makes a Blog appealing to you — I guess that might be an easier way to state the question. Just tell me what makes a Blog appealing to you.

The winner will be chosen at 10:00 P.M. Eastern Time on Sunday evening, September 16, and will be posted here shortly thereafter. If I can figure out how to use a random number generator, then I’ll use one. If not, I’ll have my son pick a number, and he, of course, will never have seen the list.

Now, my Blog being so very new, I would imagine the responses will be relatively low compared to many Blog Candy contests, so your chances should be pretty good. Good luck!!! Just remember, you have to comment below to be entered!!!

There are several reasons that I find a blog appealing:

    1) Quality of the artist’s work
    2) Easy Navigation
    3) A good description of a project
    4) And most of all, I personally will return to a blog time and time again if that particular blogger posts on a regular basis. It does not have to be every day, but often!!

Love your new blog, by the way!! Congrats….

    ~Jackie

  2. Inkylin says:

Congratulations on your new blog adventure Sharon.
For me, the main reason to stay and look around a particular blog is the amount of regular posts and definitely seeing card samples frequently.

  3. J says:

I also have several reasons that make me come back.

    1. The quality of the artist’s work {yours is FAB!!}.

    2. Eye pleasing photos.

    3. Eye pleasing blog layout. Not alot of “stuff”.

    4. Detailed description and tutorials.

    I guess that’s it.
Your blog is perfect BTW! And I have just found Flourishes and absolutely love ’em :o)

    Keep the inspiration coming!!

    ~J~

  4. marisa says:

An appealing blog for me includes:

    1) Quality and style of the cards – something I can relate to and see myself
wanting to make — you are DEFINITELY on that list 🙂
    2) Ease of navigation around the blog
    3) Regular postings – as was mentioned above, doesn’t have to be every day
    – just love seeing new card samples.
    4) for us not so creative types, I just LOVE it when a sketch layout is provided

Thank you for leaping into the Blog world, looking forward to being able to read yours regularly 🙂

    Marisa

  5. Cathy says:

I want this set sooooo bad! I just love the dove! Love the cards you made with it. What do I like when surfin blogs?
    Cards
    Altered Items
    Tutorials
Little of this and a little of that (personal or anything)
    Techniques
Ok I think you are getting the BIG picture. I LIKE EVERYTHING.
    Thanks for a chance.

Hi there! Firstly, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your creative work! It’s wonderful to see you “charting new territories” with your blog! I hope you’ve enjoyed it so far!

Blogs with really great quality work is what I’m drawn into. But also since I’m about to sign up as a SU! demo, I’ve also been looking for card ideas that are beautiful & replicable for a workshop or a class. If a blog happens to use a SU! set that I own, that’s bonus for me! I think picture quality is part of what draw me in on a subconscious level. New projects are also fun and exciting.

  7. Hello,

I wish you the best with your adventure of taking on a blog. I just started one also.
The stamp set is beautiful. Has a unique style.
    1. I enjoy visiting a blog that share the same interests as mine.
    2. Appealing projects.
    3. One that is easy to navigate.
    4. Appealing colors thats makes reading easy.
    5. A blog that has updates so when I visit I have something new to read and view.
    6. I don’t always need directions to a projects but if is is a more complicated one is sure is nice to have directions.
    Looking forward to coming back.

    Blessings,
    Diane Beckman

  8. jodene says:

The first thing that attracts me is often post. Even if no cards are show I like to read and learn a little more. Thanks for the chance. I wish you great success!

  9. Peggy Maier says:

The things that keep me coming back to a blog are:
    1) Background color (ease of reading)
    2) Lots of card samples
    3) Regular postings
    4) Size of photos
All these things add up to a great blog (in my humble opinion!)

  10. GREAT blog candy, Sharon! You’ve accomplished ALOT in one week!

Some of the things that make me linger on a blog: Quality photographs of artwork … I really don’t care for scanned artwork … I am desperately trying to get better photos on my own blog.

I enjoy some personal details and information, but don’t care for the rambling on. I enjoy humor in the text.

Quality of workmanship, and original ideas is HUGE!

Detailed project instructions and supply lists is also high on my priority list.

Oh, one more thing … when project instructions are given, bloggers need to make it easy to read instead of “I did this”, “then I did that” … use bullet points, not one huge long paragraph. When you’re following the directions for a project, it’s hard to find the next/last step in one big, long paragraph. Make sense?

Aren’t you glad you asked?! LOL!

  11. Judy H. says:

Congrats on the new blog! I personally switched to Google Reader for all my blogs – much easier to view and read them all there than going back and forth to different pages. I personally LOVE when a person updates on a regular basis. Myself being a SU demonstrator, I also enjoy when a person uses SU product, however, I love to also see the competition out there and the many ways and uses of products. I also don’t like when a person’s blog takes forever to download as I’m only on dial-up (only thing we can get at the moment – I guess we live in the sticks or something!) ha!

Thanks for the opportunity to win some great blog candy!

    Judy H.

  12. Linda SS says:

The things I enjoy most about a blog is the quality of the cards and if they are my style. If the blogger has a fun sense of humor. I enjoy photos of family and scenery as it’s fun to be able to relate to the blogger better. How easy it is to read. I enjoy dialog that is interesting and to the point. Tutorials are nice if they are easy to follow. At last but not least, I keep coming back if I get inspired by my visits. Thank you – your blog is PERFECT!

  13. Robyn says:

What I l look for on a blog is clear pictures of the cards, with at least some description of colours or embellishments. Then I venture back to those that update often and have lots of card samples.
Thanks for the chance to win.

  14. Fran Sabad says:

I enjoy blogs with nice photographs of the projects. I don’t mind “chit chat” but like to see the ideas for the cards all in one place. But what keeps me coming back is frequent posts. Tutorials are nice. Sketches are nice – but I really want to see the finished project!

  15. SmilynStef says:

Since I use bloglines to read all of my blogs, having the blog set to full feed really makes a difference. If I can’t see the picture of the creation, I’m much less likely to click on through to the blog.

I appreciate frequent posts; unique ideas and references; links included of where to get the products used (if it is online); some personal information, particularly about the creative process with some humor, but not a lot of whining about kids, work, family; and a clean layout without music.

Thanks for the chance for a great giveaway … love these new stamps.

  16. janice (smitty2004) says:

I think that i tend to blog surf the people whose taste and design is
one that is similar to mine. i love Blogs with instructions, pictures, unique layouts and that make you feel like you are chatting.
i am a slow grasper, so DETAILS are very important as well as a list of products…
this is a great blog already and i was thrilled to see you had begun one! your cards are gorgeous and i look forward to learning as much as i can!
GOOD LUCK! keep those gorgeous, fun, beautiful cards coming!
    jan

  17. Krisstee says:

Hmmmmmmmmmm. What keeps me coming back to a Blog on a regular basis?
I would have to say that a blog has to be apealling to the eye. Good photos of the project will keep me coming back. A few blogs have no pictures until you open the post. Grrrrrrrr!
I must say that your blog is appealing! Wonderful work and great photos. You leave nothing out. I love the fact that you have measurements and instructions in all of your posts. Only a week eh??? Keep up the good work!

  18. doverdi says:

Congratulations on your new blog adventure. What keeps me coming back to a Blog on a regular basis?? For starters, it would be consistancy. I like it when a blogger posts on a regular basis. I love unique card ideas, altered projects, layouts, etc. Great pics (yours are wonderful), great instructions & details about the card or project (your’s A+++), tutorials, stamp credits, etc. I see so many stamps that I love and it’s nice to see who makes them. It’s hard to believe that you’ve just started as your blog is awesome. I love the Flourishes Peace Stamp Set and will definately have to keep my eye open for that one.

  19. Nancy Rickmeyer says:

I find the quality, style and color of the cards. After cruising lots of SCS, magazines and blogs I’ve come to realize I am attracted to certain colors. I also love to see new layouts. That is a huge problem area for me…new ways to use things I have and LOVE 3D things (boxes etc.) and altered items. I am a confessed container addict…it’s all about the packaging sometimes. I’ve started watching your blog early on. It looks good. Blog candy is always fun, but I’m not lucky. I just want to encouragae you to keep blogging. It keeps stalkers like me happy and inspired. I know it takes time and energy to blog…so thanks for your efforts!

  20. Angel says:

I have enjoyed reading the answers to your question! I like a blog that updates as well and has quality work.

  21. Karen says:

Welcome to the blogging world. I like a blog that is updated regularly and also one that show many different ideas. I prefer not to have long explanations about cards as I am a visual person.

The flourishes set is very nice and versatile. Tks for the opportunity.

  22. erika h. says:

Welcome to the blogging world…I am a new bloger myself.

I stay a bit longer at a blog when:
    1. they use a unique technique on their cards or projects.
    2. they update regularily.
    3. the cards are quality work and catch my eye.

  23. Viv (VivLyn) says:

There are a few things that draw me back to a blog.
    1) Creative and well designed cards
    2) The blog layout – a love the no-cluttered look
    3) Sharing of information

You’re at a great start already!

  24. Kerry J says:

I totally agree on the blogs that are full feed (which yours is). Also well photographed projects, and varied projects. Regular posting and an easy writing style are bonuses. So far your blog is overqualified! I am loving it and can’t wait to see more! Thanks for the awesome blog candy!

  25. Nikki says:

First let me say that I’m thrilled that you have started a blog! I have long been an admirer of your work over at SCS and am so excited to be able to read about the how/why/what went into the making of each of your projects. The things that grab my attention about a blog are:

    1) The style of the work – does it match my own?
    2) The quality of the work
    3) Do they use SU products? Doesn’t have to be exclusively SU (I like to see and buy other companies products as well) but since that is what I sell and use, I definitley am interested in those products.
    4) Good layout and well-photographed pictures
    5) Clear instructions
    6) I like the artist to include some personal commentary in their blog. It makes it more interesting and gives the sense that you are having a conversation with the artist about what went into their work, or what inspired it, or what challenges they faced when creating it, or what products they used and where they found them.

Best of luck in your new blog – I’ve already subscribed and am enjoying the updates! Your work is amazing!!

  26. Donna says:

DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS… are important. I’m really not interested in a whole lot of “chit-chat”- no time for it. But I identify with someone’s style, and it keeps me coming back for more. I love your style, Sharon!

  27. Dale Livingston says:

I can appreciate the “No time to stamp” theory so when I am finding my way into someone’s blog this is what keeps me there:

~first it is the style of the card that attracts my eye to what to read/look some more

~I love to have the “Recipe” of the project as this helps me not feel so challenged LOL

~Finding my way around the blog with easae is another important aspect for me.

I love spending time looking in on my favourite designers blog and admire and appreciate all the work you put into creating them. Thank You for doing this. I love it.

  28. Sherrie (scs Sherrie) says:

Congratulations on your new blog…I love it! What keeps me coming back to a blog is seeing cards that I would like to make; detailed directions; I love SU (hobby demo), but also like seeing other stamps/companies (love to be enabled); regular postings. Thanks for sharing your talent!

  29. Vickie Waugh says:

    Hi!

First I just wanted to say I love your style! You are a wonderful artist!

I look for friendliness in a blog. Is it the kind of place I want to “sit and chat” for awhile. Then of course is it easy to use, pictures and directions, etc.

    Thanks!
    Vickie

  30. Pat says:

    1. The quality of the work.
    2. Do I like the style.
    2. Simple directions or products used.
    3. Frequent posts

Thanks for sharing and Congrats on your new blog!

    Pat

  31. Hello! I like to see tutorials, cards and scrapbook pages that are different than any I’ve seen before, and frequent updating of the blog.

  32. Hmm, some good answers, and this will help all of us bloggers as well.

Okay, first I have to say . . . I LOVE your work. Your cards are just darling! I have been admiring you for a while at SCS, and now I love reading your blog for more info on the cards/projects.

The thing that makes me linger longer are good photographs and descriptions that are clear and listed nicely. I just love to peruse (sp?) the photos, but love it even more when there are directions for something I am interested in making myself. 😀 Thanks, Kelly

  33. joyk says:

First and foremost is the style and quality of the bloggers creations. Another thing that attracts me is great tips or tutorials. Thanks 🙂

  34. Dawn (stampinscotsgirl) says:

Hi Sharon, first of all I want to send a HUGE congratulations your way on starting your own blog!!!! Woohoo!! I love your work and style of cards that you create:) You are so talented!!

I have just started reading blogs, so for me personally, I like a blog to be easy to navigate with lots of clear photos and instructions. I also like to know which products were used. Whether a blogger updates regularly is important too and obviously the quality of the work.

When I saw your generous blog candy, I was so excited, because I have seen the beautiful cards you have made using the new peace set and so I know I need to get that set, whether I win it or buy it. I have the flourished words set and I love it! It makes such crisp clear impressions every time:)

Congrats again Sharon on your wonderful blog.
    Dawn

  35. pegg says:

I can’t wait to read everyone else’s replies but what is important to me is:
–Nice, clear photos of the card (size and quality of photo)
–Posts that are tagged (by Stamp company, techniques, etc – to make them easily searchable. I wish everyone would do this!)
–Expanded entries — I read blogs by Google Reader and want to see full post via Reader
    –Beautiful cards/projects of course!
–Honest opinions — I don’t like overly effusive salespeople

I don’t think it matters if your cards are similar in style to mine because I am open to new techniques and styles and I want to learn.

Also, it’s not important to me that you post once a day — it’s not a race — and I will visit your blog if I see that you have posted new post on my Google Reader. I realize most people have jobs or other commitments and will not fault you for not having enough time!

  36. Regina says:

    Hi Sharon,
I love reading and learning on the blogs!
I always look at the art, and the specifics of how it was created.
Love to read tutorials and learn how things are done.
I also really enjoy product reviews and critiques, it’s so helpful to know how other people experience using a product before I invest!
    Thanks for sharing!

  37. Lisa says:

I really enjoy blogs that updated frequently. I also love to look at cards, especially ones with so much detail along with the ‘how to’ to make the card.

I am really enjoying your blog!

  38. Kathy W says:

This is such a beautiful set of stamps. I have really enjoyed looking at your cards and the ones Julia S. has made on her blog with this set. I stay longer at a blog and check it daily when:
    1. the style of the blogger matches mine
    2. there are detailed instructions of how to make the card
    3. product reviews
    4. pictures

Thanks for the chance to win!

  39. Bonnie says:

    HI,

    I look for:
    quality of work
    inspiration of designs
frequency of postings – the more the better
    ease of navigation
    pictures and detailed directions

    thanks for sharing with us!!!

  40. Pam says:

Wow….I’m so excited to see that you’ve entered ‘blog-land’!! You are such an amazingly talented artist, and it’s great to know that now we’ll be learning more about your creative process. I just found you today, and I’m really impressed—talk about starting off with a bang!! You asked us to let you know what we like in a blog…so I’ll share some of my “hope-to-see’s”… If the quality & quantity of posts that you’ve done so far in your first week or so are any indication, your blog is going to be one of my daily “must-reads”!!
    Blog ‘Wish List’….
    1. Frequent posting–I love knowing that I have a few faithful bloggers that post daily with new creations…but at the same time, I know that we ALL have a life..so I don’t expect it from anyone either…make sense? It IS nice, though, even if you don’t have a creation to upload, to ‘stop by & say Hi’ to your regular readers… (we all know that real life can throw a wrench in the best-laid daily plans & we do understand!)
    2. I love knowing measurements of cards, layers, etc….in case I want to CASE….plus knowing what company/store an embellishment or DP came from. It’s really helpful for those times when you’re looking for just the right item for a project & come upon it a blog. I also like knowing what inspires someone…and the mishaps/twists & turns that often happen when we’re trying to make something. It’s nice to know that it doesn’t ‘only happen to me’!
    3. I DO like the chatty types of blogs…it helps me to feel like I ‘know’ the person….and it’s great reading about their family, daily mishaps, etc… We’re all Moms, we work, we have stress, etc. etc. etc….and nobody’s life is perfect! We all try hard, though, don’t we?? It’s just fun reading.
    4. Blog candy is wonderful…giving gifts to others is a very generous thing to do…but I’m never lucky (darn…)…and there are SO many who only go to a blog when they know there’s a giveaway anyway…so that’s not what draws me in. Generous, but not a necessity. (I AM happy for a blogger though when the milestones for hits go by though—that is so neat to see!)
    5. Have FUN doing this! That’s what it’s all about anyway, isn’t it!! I wish you the best with this new venture…you’re doing a fantastic job already! “-)
Best wishes from a now-regular-reader!! Pam (SCS 4Hounds)

  41. Carolen says:

So many things attract me to a blog. Having said that, I only subscribe to two (yes! you made my short list!) and watch another two or three occassionally.

What attracts me? Clear, largish pictures of quality cards; detailed instructions; in-depth explanations of techniques etc.; variety and a professional tone to the writing.

Personally, I don’t care for the sites that have a chatty me, me, me quality about their lives. Some sites just seem – SORRY!- so narcissistic. Don’t get me wrong. I do feel that relationships are formed and I don’t mind learning a little about the person and knowing when there are trying times for them. But I am not into reading diaries. And, I tend not to revisit
a blog that tries to cover a lot of different topics.

p.s. the blog candy is amazing!!!

  42. Jennifer says:

I really look for a clean crisp layout, and love looking at everyone’s header’s. The of course next is the style of stamping or crafting. I look for blogs that have similar stamping styles to mine, or styles that I really would like to emulate. Awesome blog candy, I’m so crossing my fingers I might get lucky and win!

  43. Val says:

The first thing that attracts me to a blog is the name of the blog…I love the name of yours! What keeps me coming back are: the quality of cards presented, tutorials, and the ability to navigate the blog easily. Wonderful blog candy doesn’t hurt too!

  44. Debbie (DeborahLynneS) says:

    Hi Sharon:

One of the things that I really enjoy in a blog is the scrolling cards…you know– where the person’s work is continuously scrolling on the sidebar.

    Deb

  45. Cindy Vernon says:

Wow, that’s a beautiful stamp set! I like blogs that have card samples that are beautiful but that I, as a regular joe stamper can replicate. The complicated stuff is nice but when I see an inspiring card, that I can do too, it makes me want to go home and stamp. I also like blogs that have regular posts.

  46. Leslie says:

Great question!! Cause I read stamping blogs first thing every morning!

*There are some where I can’t wait to see what the stamper came up with that I can CASE. I am creatively challenged, but give me an idea and I take it and embellish it.

*There are some blogs where I look to read their journaling. They are amazing writers.

*I also like to start my day with a laugh and some of the bloggers have the greatest sense of humor.

*…..and because I do read blogs daily, I was lucky enough to see that you had started one.

*Last, but not least, I cannot believe how the same set of stamps can turn into such completely different creations. I admire everyone’s creativity and willingness to share.

  47. Ah-Ling says:

I LOVE your blog! I’ll be addicted to a blog for some of the following reasons…
    – the layout is clean and simple, and well-coordinated
    – the cards are well displayed and photographed (e.g. good lighting)
    – the more unique or complicated techniques used are explained (so I can try it!)
    – and importantly, if it’s updated frequently.

And your blog has all of those things! I hope you keep writing and posting here!

  48. broni says:

I love to see quality work, LARGE print for these old eyes, fairly regular entries, and an enthusiasm from the artist for what she is doing and sharing. I’d say you fit the bill perfectly!!!

  49. Melissa says:

Awesome blog candy! My top two choices are:

    1) Quality of workmanship
    2) Pictures that can be enlarged to see details

Thanks for the inspiration and the chance to win your awesome blog candy!

  50. Karin Aiello says:

Pretty much the only thing that keeps me looking on a blog is pictures of samples. I don’t care if the instructions are long or short or if there aren’t any at all. I usually feel like I can figure them out if need be. But, if there aren’t sample pics or if there are a few interspersed here and there with a bunch of family vacation pics or whatever, I say “Next!” and move on!

  51. Amy says:

    LOVE your blog, Sharon!

Things that draw me to a blog are:

    1. Good quality pictures and lots of them.
    2. Regular, frequent posts.
    3. Details on the projects that you post.
    4. Details on “new” products so that we can learn about them before we spend money on them. Recommendations from someone who’s used them.
    5. Fun contests or games. Just occassionally.
    6. I also enjoy learning about the blogger, nothing too personal but just things going on in their lives, what got them into stamping, etc. I like a personal touch.

Keep up the good work Sharon, and thanks for giving us all the opportunity to win such great goodies!!!

    Amy/yooperbrat

  52. Lori M says:

Well look at that! You thought you wouldn’t have many and when I went to post a comment you are up to 51! Congratulations! And I am really liking your blog!
    Ok, what I like:
Regular updates. I realize people don’t have time/desire whatever to update daily but a few times a week is what I like.
I may not have the same style as a lot of the blogs that I look at, but I like helpful hints, tidbits, where a set of stamps, tools and whatnot can be purchased, who carries them, that type of thing.
I do like a personal touch, whatever people are willing to tell.
And personality, which you have! It is fun reading your blog!
And of course, cards and/or projects!
I appreciate the ones that take the time to write tutorials and share new techniques.
I know blogging is a lot of work. I so appreciate all that goes into them!
Some blogs I look at, they update 2-3 times a week, but I keep checking back because they share their work and they have excitement! Some do not write a lot which is just fine with me!
So far I love your style!

  53. Claudia V says:

What I like most about blogs are the card samples. I do like lots of clear photos which are large enough or can be enlarged to see the details. However, not so large that I can’t see the whole card at one time on my screen. They don’t always have to be my style because I also am interested in what people have done with different layouts. I do like detailed instructions because if it is easy to figure out, I can skim through it, but there may be details I miss that the instructions will help me see.
I do like blogs that are regularly posted, easy to navigate, occasional tutorials, some-but not a lot of -personal sharing. Information on new products and how you like them is good too.
    Your blog is great!

  54. Shelly says:

I like blogs that have new and innovative ideas on them. Good tutorials with good pictures always pique my interest. I also like “functional” items, like journals, altered tins and such. Of course, beautiful cards are also inspiring to look at!

  55. Andrea Mason says:

I find myself at blogs that provide great photos of their crafts, along with instructions on how I can create something like it. Your site was added to my favorites from the first day I came to it!

    Thanks for sharing your talent!
    Andrea

  56. Ida Faye says:

The first thing that catches my eye is the layout of the blog. Then, I like relatively simple, easy to create cards with some information about the materials used. I also enjoy the personal chitchat, especially from bloggers who live in places I’ve never visited. Thanks for a chance to win these wonderful items.

  57. First it is the cards and them I like to here how they are made and them somthing about their personal life.I like when you mention where you have gotten paper, stamps etc.I have seen papers I would like to purchas, but when I look on the company web site there is no memtion of that particular paper. To much of one type of card day after day turns me off. We get envoled with you and when something is wrong and you disappear it’s like a member of the family disappearing . We don’t need to know the whole story, but all the things that can run through your minds when a bloggers just saids I have a bug or something and does not post for a month or more. Making your blog userfriendly by have (older post) at the bottom of the page so we don’t not have to scroll all the way to the top again to go back to older posts. I just found you blog and I will be back. Thanks for asking for our input and oftening the great blog candy! Mary Hellen

  58. Jill Kirk says:

My reason for returning to a site is definitely quality of projects and if they WOW me! There are alot of good blogs but they aren’t my style either, so that is a factor. I do like instructions as well, that’s always a bonus. You’re doing awesome so far…thanks for the inspirations!

  59. Sandy Kay says:

    Hi Sharon,
So glad you joined the blogging world! I like blogs that have posts on a consistent basis and I especially enjoy cards that are simple, but good quality. If I see a card that’s too detailed, I won’t even bother, even if it’s beautiful!
    Sandy Kay

  60. Dottie K says:

Wow great blog candy. Enjoy your blog and your work is just amazing.

    I look for:
Cards that fit my style and colors.
Easy to navigate blogs and I don’t like busy backgrounds – too hard on the eyes.
Someone that shows great projects and easy instructions. Simplicity and great tips.
I like to feel like I’ve gotten to know a new friend who enjoys a hobby as much as I do.

Thanks for a wonderful chance at some blog candy and a fantastic blog. I hope you’re enjoying your blog as much as I have. Have a great day!!!

  61. ChrisC says:

I just started into Blogs, but what draws me to keep looking at one is the style/quality/simplicity of card or project, the ease in navigating the blog keeps me coming back and the variety of projects shown.

  62. LorieW says:

Wow! 60+ responses so far….I think everyone was just waiting for you to start a blog! In answer to your questions, 2 things make me stay to cruise around a blog. Detailed info about their cards (including the size of the card) and personal stories. Even though stampers have a social life, I think we also have an online social life and I like reading other people’s stories…makes me feel connected.

  63. Julie says:

Hi! Love your new blog! There are a couple things that make me want to continue reading a blog, but first is how often the blogger posts. There are some blogs out there by very talented stampers but they never or hardly ever post. I take them out of my favorites after a little while if they haven’t or rarely post. The other thing is I really like good quality work with personal stories and instructions. It’s nice to hear/see what’s going on in your life!

  64. Ghazal says:

    Well… There are lots of things that makes a Blog appealing to me;
    1. Style of the cards,
    2. Color combos,
    3. Detailed instructions,
    4. Good quality photos that can be enlarged,
    5. Tutorials,
    6. Daily updates,
    .
    .
    .
Actually The list is too long!
Oh, I think the banner and the background helps too!!
Thanks for the chance to win.

  65. Regina Davis says:

Yahoo…what awesome blog candy. I’m crossing my fingers AND my toes that I’ll be the winner. I love, love, love this set!

As far as great blogs, I definitely like the ones with great cards that match my style. I also appreciate a clean and easy to read blog…preferrably with a white or very light background color. The blogs that are dark with dark writing are very difficult to read.

    Keep up the good work!

  66. Juanita says:

I love the idea of possibly winning some GREAT things, awesome giveaway!!!

The artist work, life stuff, does the owners personality come through, can they be lighthearted, do they respond occasinally so that I know my comments aren’t falling into an abyss. These are the things that attract me to a blog. TFS.

  67. Michelle R says:

I am sooooooooo happy that you finally have a blog! Congrats…and welcome to the blogger’s world. 🙂

I like to see different styles, and different types of stamps. Not all one brand, but various ones. Of course, quality of the projects is also important. I personally don’t care for a LOT of personal stuff, but I do like enough so I feel that I’m getting to know the blogger.

Thanks for sharing your creations with us…….your work is just awesome!

  68. Vicki says:

I find a blog by recommendation from other stampers. I come back to that blog day after day because of several things:

    1. Interesting projects
    2. Interesting “chatter.” I like to know a little of what went into putting together that particular project. I also like to read a little about the personal life of the blogger (I guess I’m just nosy that way — but isn’t that what blogging is all about?)

That’s it. Both of those things will earn a blog a place in my favorites folder and return visits on a daily basis.

I love your projects, and I’ll be watching your blog evolve. You’re doing a great job so far!

    Vicki

  69. Megan Olsen says:

No way the number of responses will be low – you’re a stamping superstar! 🙂 There are quite a few things on a blog that draw me in – unique cards and projects, of course, and I also love personal chit chat. Loving your brand new blog, by the way!!

  70. Claudia F. says:

Congratulations on your blog, it’s wonderful. What catches my eye and makes me stay longer is usually color, quality, how easy it is to read and navigate but most of all the work posted from the blog owner.

  71. canadian_stamper says:

I really like the personal touch of some blogs, the detailed instructions (I need that) The great projects using a large spectrum of techniques and stamps. BTW l love your blog and I will be back reading it again and again it has just what I like.

  72. stampngokaren says:

Blog layout and colors first attract me to a blog. After that it is the artwork that keeps me coming back.

Frequecy of posts that I like to see is a few times a week. That is just enough without going overboard.

  73. I think the biggest thing that attracts me to a blog is beautiful work with quality photography (yours qualifies!). Mostly I like to know the details on who makes the stamps/embellishments and if it’s not obvious, where to buy them.

I also like those tips you have been giving along the way – even though some might seem obvious, many of us have either forgotten them or might possibly never heard them in the first place!

Thanks for the chance to win!!

  74. JanTink says:

What makes me stop? Me, the blog butterfly, flitting from bush to bush?

Why, it’s the projects…if you’ve got killer projects and they are photographed beautifully and you provide directions, why I am yours, honey! 😉

  75. Christina Smith says:

    Hi Sharon~

First of all I love your new blog! I am so glad you have created one. I have followed your work on SCS and it is always amazing! Yesterday’s card was just beautiful, as well as todays!

Now for your question. When I’m searching through the blogs, I find I want to stay longer on the ones that have links to sites that you can buy supplies from. I have often asked the card designer where they got their goodies from and havng it posted in the card recipe or on “Sites to shop at” on the side are most beneficial. That way, they won’t have to answer numerous e-mails and can create more beautiful works of art!
Now as far as that candy goes……..I am in NEED of those stamps BIG TIME!!!

    Have a great one,
    Chrisi

  76. Christine says:

What I really appreciate about a blog….some of my thoughts

If it is a stamping blog, for me creativity is #1. Blogs I subscribe to are ones where the artist also uses their creativity to teach. Seeing great cards is very inspiring, but to me it is wonderful and I really appreciate when that blogger also shows you how they did it, or something new to try. That helps me be a better stamper. I can look at something and say, “how can I make that my own, how can I adapt that”, or “Wow that was something new – I can try that sometime”.

I also like seeing more of that person shine through and who they are, what makes them the creative person that they are.

I know that it is a big time committment to have a blog like this, so I hope that you have fun on this new adventure!

  77. Kim says:

What makes me stick around a blog? Cards that are a style that I like and techniques that I’ve never tried that has clear instructions.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  78. Angie Warren says:

I think for me it is definitely the quality of the cards. I also look at tutorials and altered items. I am always looking for new and different ideas, so if something catches my eye, I always start looking around to see what other gems are lurking on the blog. I am so glad to see you have a new blog going!
Congrats and I am sure it will be a success. I can’t wait to see what you have planned!
    Angie

  79. jami says:

Sharon – congrats on getting you blog started. It’s looking great! As far as what makes me want to read or return to a blog….of course there are a lot of factors, but mainly I enjoy seeing cards by stampers I admire like you and I enjoy getting a little insight into the poster’s life and personality. Thanks for offering the teriffic candy!

  80. Sharon Romine says:

I have admired your work on SCS for awhile and I was so glad to see that you have started a blog.

The things that make me rate a blog high on my list of must reads are:

    1. Frequent posts
    2. I like tutorials
    3. I like to read about a person’s day to day life. For example, a good recipe they have tried or interesting places they have visited as well as family happenings.
    4. And of course, the beautiful art work they have created.

    Sharon

  81. nancy littrell says:

    Wow…..80 comments already!
Excellent quality photo’s, beautiful flower cards, wonderful color combo’s, embellishments, sewing, lengthy and personal descriptions of the making of the cards and tutorials all grab my attention. Congratulations Sharon on your new blog that will meet all of my requirements 🙂 TFS

  82. Elaine Jones says:

I like blogs that are humorous, not too wordy and that have lots of samples of projects they are working on. I also love tutorials….Good luck to you and happy blogging.

  83. Michelle says:

Congrats on the new blog, Sharon. I love that stamp set. So, so pretty.
I think I look for a couple of things in a blog 1) a friendly, conversational style of writing that is inviting and not too pretentious. and 2) Pretty things to look at. Usually the pretty things I like are a little on the simpler and more elegant side and not “overdone”. I love your work, so I will be adding you to my reading list!

  84. tera says:

I love looking at what people create – sometimes its nice to know the reciepe but most of the time I skip that unless theres a stamp that has “gotta have” written all over it – I do like tutorials for special techs, and I do like a little chit chat about family and life in general but to tell the trueth if its not short, I don’t read (no time unless I never want to accually do crafts:).
    Love your stuff
    Tera

  85. Lori Mueller says:

WOW, Sharon….already 84 comments (and you thought “relatively low”…HA!). I follow a blog that is easy to read, high quality of cards and photos of work, easy navigation through their site, frequent updates, and getting to know the person through their little chit-chats. I LOVE your work, therefore, consider yourself bookmarked!

Thanks for the blog candy! and congrats on venturing into the blog world (now, let’s hope I win!)

  86. Leslie McGahie says:

I am new tothe whole blog scene. What catches my eye right away is a nice color of the blog header. I love to see cards or projects that aren’t too fussy. I like clean beautiful card designs. If things are too complicated or call for tools I don’t own I skip. When I find a blog I like I get excited when I see a new posting.
If the whole sight is easy to navigate that is a big plus since I am just learning how to get around myself.
Congratulations for having done so much in just one week!
My son thinks I have taken over “his” computer because I spend so much time on it-there is so much inspiration from some very talents artists out there!
I like forward to seeing more posts!
    Leslie

  87. Betty says:

What attracts me most to a blog, is creative projects, tutorials, and current updates on the blog.

  88. diane mcvey says:

LOVE your blog! And thanks for the chance at winning some wonderful products!!!
What draws me in is fresh, quality designs; then I love to see what products were used, and where to get them; frequent updates are also really great, but I usually sign up for the feed if I really like a blog!
You are doing a great job, so thank you!!! Your blog is great!

  89. sharon in ne says:

Responses will be low, huh? Let’s see, I’m #88 😀 Oh well, you obviously have something sweet to offer and an interesting question. The blog which first catches my eye must have a clear, good photograph of the card or project they are presenting. Quality of the project is important. Humor and humility is nice. A small amount of personal info is good but not to overwhelm the reason why I’m there which is to learn more about or be inspired by their artistic talents/card making.

  90. Alicia says:

    Hi Sharon ~

    Great Blog for a newbie!!

I just love blog hopping! What makes me stop though and spend some time …

    1. Good photos of the project/card.
    2. Good descriptions of product used on the project/card.
    3. Also, like bloggers who post at least once a week.
    4. Blog Candy never hurts. 🙂

    Alicia

  91. Evelyn says:

    I like blogs that:

update regularly (at least 3-4 times per week)
good quality photos and a list of the products used and colors
I love to see the websites/blogs that my favorite bloggers like to visit
easy to navigate – tags or categories used to index posts are great
    LOVE tutorials
A MUST HAVE (in my opinion) – provide the entire post in your blog feed link – I have stopped reading and subscribing to blogs that do not provide me with the entire post in its feed link. I use Google Reader to read my favorite blogs and like to have the entire post to read there.

    Thanks for sharing your talent!

  92. karen says:

Congratulations on your new site. I am so happy I found it and am looking forward to visiting often. My favorite thing a blogs is when the blogger includes tutorials for new and different styles of cards or embelishments.

  93. Cathy says:

What attracts me are the projects/quality of the work. I’m also attracted to blogs of stampers that seem to like the same stamp style/product that I like as well. It’s interesting to see different stampers use the same products in completely different fashions. Fancy banners and set ups are nice but I go more for the content!
Thanks for offering such great candy – you’re doing a great job with your blog – have fun with it!!!
    Cathy

  94. Nancy says:

I gravitate toward SU samples, or those I can use with SU products, but I will definitely revisit blogs that have tutorials and few “commercial interruptions” (i.e., those are that not cluttered with ads, DEFINITELY not music blaring). AND, of course, I LOVE blog candy, especially if I win!

Thanks so much for asking! Congrats on getting so many comments – you’re site is must be more popular than you think!

    Nancy

  95. Carol says:

I love to go to the blogs to get the detailed instructions that are omitted on SSG(Splitcoast Stampers’ Gallery) especially after seeing a card that I like. I have put some of my favorites under Favorites so I can go there at any time and see what is new! I love your cards, Sharon, and I love being contacted by Feed Blitz whenever you do a new card!

A lot of the blogs will take you to other sites such as companies which has been very helpful as well! ( Such as Flourishes)

    Carol

  96. Char in So Cal says:

So funny… 95 comments so far and you think you would have a small amount of hits! LOL!

On to business… I am attracted to blogs that include nice, BIG, detailed pics of card creations. I like it when the blog owner updates often and I TRY to focus on creations with SU! products for stamp club ideas, ie: color combos, layout, innovative use of embellishments like ribbon.

    Thanks for asking this question. When I have more time I would like to read what the other 94 people wrote {grin!}

  97. Carol F. says:

I tend to revisit blogs that have a style of cards/projects that I can relate to and would recreate myself, have good quality photographs and post on a regular basis.

  98. Connie says:

I look for unique and quality-driven cards that have a good set of directions. I also look for frequent posts as I check a whole list everyday.
I love your cards. Congratulations on your blog! You are doing a fantastic job.

  99. mary p says:

The main reason I bookmark and blog or add it to my favorites list is more card designs. It’s great to hear about trips and family activities but I look for cards number one!

  100. Suzie W says:

How fun to start your own Blog. Good luck with everything. What makes me want to look and linger at a blog.

    Quality of the product!
    Eye-catching WOW!
    Color!
Uniqueness! (Is that a word?) Ha!
    Humor!
    Not to chatty!
If I like their work I put them in my favorites!!!

    Thanks, S

  101. lilian says:

when i look through blogs, the first thing that makes me subscribe is the style/design of the cards. i also like to see tutorials. 🙂

thanks for the chance to win the stamp set!

  102. Um, yeah — “low responses” . . . it’s already at 101, lady, LOL! I love this stamp set and all the great cards I’ve seen using it — how kind of Flourishes to let you give it away!

What stops my eye when blog cruisin’ is just the quality of work. Doesn’t matter if it’s a card, 3D item, scrapbook page — whatever details I see that stop my eye (in a good way!).

Great work with your blog, Sharon!

  103. Cammy V says:

Wow, your blog is pretty well put together! Congrats!!! I’ve added it to my “favs”, so I’ll be frequently visiting here. Thanks to Deb Olson for pointing me here. 🙂

When I “cruise the blogs” I tend to not read but rather look at the pretty creations. I don’t like reading the detail on how to make the cards, other than what stamps were used. If a really nice and unique design catches my attention, then I’ll slow down and read. I tend to get drawn and get grabbed by happy and bright colors.

  104. Janet Allen says:

I can definitely tell you what is so appealing about YOUR blog…Your cards are truly amazing and you photo them just perfectly. Thanks so much for sharing your pretty creations with us.

  105. Jerri Jimenez says:

I especially like to come back and visit blogs often that have:

    1. Beautiful cards (of course);
    2. Easy to navigate around in;
    3. Give recipes for cards;
    4. Have tutorials;
    5. Especially love ratings/recommendations of products the blog owner has tried, i.e., Julia Stainton and Ellen Hutson’s blogs are fantastically full of information for different products on the market.
    6. I like bio’s on the blog owner as well. I feel I have a more “personal” knowledge of the person; getting to know them via SCS/Blogs is a wonderful way to meet new friends and have faith that there are a lot of beautiful people out there that I would never have had the opportunity to connect with.

Your Blog is wonderful Sharon. I don’t typically do the Blog Candy thing, but I wanted to share with you what I look for when I’m navigating the net looking at blogs. Thanks so much for sharing your creative talents with us, you’re a blessing to us all.

    Jerri

  106. Linda Palmer says:

I also like bios of the stamper. The card usually catches my attention first. That is probably what I look for, eye catching cards. Love your new blog and all your cards.

  107. Kathie says:

Blog Candy – I have never heard of it, but this sure sounds like fun! The number one reason for me to visit a blog has been that I know the person but I am finding out there is a whole nother world out there and this is fun! LOL Appealing and wonderfully artistic cards – LIKE YOURS – and a blog that is regularly updated would be reasons for me to come back again and again. Thanks for a super blog, it is blog candy to my eyes. LOL

  108. Just found your blog! I’d love some blog candy. What makes a blog appealing to me is seeing photographs of projects and new products that have been tested. I also look for tutorials.

I like what I see so far and I can’t wait to see what else you create.

  109. Jen70 says:

Wow! You have quite a response for having a new blog… But you’re amazing so I’m not surprised!

What grabs my attention on a stamping blog?
    1. style and quality of the cards
    2. good photography
    3. directions for new ideas/techniques
    4. I like to read nice grammar. Unfortunately, it is a fault of mine being a teacher. Bad writing and grammar has me quickly leaving. Typos are no big deal. They happen to everyone. OK… You asked! (And your writing is fine! LOL!)

  110. Claudia Rosa says:

    what makes me come back?

it is not so much the quality of the photo or the newest “trend” stampset used.

for me it is defenetly the creativity

    good explanation about techniques used
i remember when i started stamping i was reading: technique by example “sponging”… well everytime when i tried to sponge it looked horrible all blodgy. until the time i found a tutorial on a blog (stamping mama) on HOW to sponge. -simple… right, but there are newbies out there too and we are grateful for help like this!!!

now that iam a bit more advanced i would say…I LOOOVE tutorials. especially for projects beyond making cards!!! there is nothing more that sells me more on a blog or a certain stampset than when i see how versatile it can be.

    3) i really dislike when i read a blog and i have to click like 6 times on a link that connects me to a store. :-((((

uppps…. jen70… i guess my english really is bad. i hope you forgive me 😉
    thank you for asking!!!
i always loved your cards – dont worry your blog will be a BIG hit!

  111. Renée says:

Blogs …. hmmm … First off, I have to say that the content has to be primarily papercrafting. I’ve seen a lot of blogs that have more personal posting than craft. I don’t mind reading a bit of someone’s life, but I’m looking mostly for inspiration! I think the major thing that catches my attention first would have to be the artwork. I prefer SU product, so I look for a majority of that first. Then it also has to be quality work for me to come back. The second thing that will keep me is the look of the blog, if it’s glaring colours that drive my eyes nuts, I won’t be back. Again though, the major part for me is the artwork!

  112. Rose Ann says:

I love a great variety of high quality cards (all do not need to be complex with lots of layers).

Cards are my favorite, but I love another project thrown in here or there.

    Great photography catches my eye.

I love when the recipe is included, and if it’s a new product, a link or name of a store of where you can find it.

I don’t mind chatty sites, ’cause I love a good read. 😉 It just takes me a while to get around to all the sites I visit.

  113. Lastel/STAMPINSTEL says:

Congrants on your new blog ! The things that hold my interest are quality cards , nice photos of the cards or projects , nice bullet form instructions that are easy to follow . I don’t mind hearing about family or life , but not if it rambles on forever , love to hear humorous stories especially . Tutorials and reviews are a nice feature as well ! Can’t wait to visit your blog on a regular basis as you know I am a big fan of your work !

  114. Lynda says:

I am so excited Sharon that you have a blog now! I have always admired your work!

I love blogs that do include tidbits about their personal life, recipes for their projects, good photos (close-ups of some details they might want to point out), tutorials, information on something they found that is so cool they want to share with others and humor!

    Congratulations!

    ~Lynda

  115. Karen (Karen Stamps! on scs) says:

Great blog! It has the features I like:
    – interesting, beautiful artwork with instructions and supplies listed

    – interesting write-up with creative details and some personal bits too that give me some hints about the blogger’s personality, interests, etc.

These would be the two main things that bring me back to a blog.

  116. Joyce/not2old2stamp says:

Sharon, you are doing a fine job of creating a place where stampers want to come often to see what beautiful new card(s) you’ve created and spend some ‘quality’ time with you!

Love your attractive, modest banner; tabs and bullets for easy navigation; large enough text + white space to read easily; friendly, positive sharing of both professional and personal information; and the blessed quietness.

Thanks for your helpful hints, stamp credits, and product links. Adding measurements would be a lovely bonus! It’s a relief that you’re not selling anything to us either.

Although I’ve already bought the Peace set from Flourishes, I have a terrific stamping buddy who ‘needs’ a set, and I could REALLY use those oversize envelopes! 🙂

Thanks to Debbie Olson (also high on my Top Ten Favorite Stamp Artists list) for announcing your startup and providing a link!

  117. Jan Scholl says:

I like to see cards that jump off the page at me. I dont want to see blurry Ebay type photos. ANd not too much flashy stuff as far as add ons like ads etc. I put one up last week and I am getting ready to take it down. Its annoying. I love color so the title or header will sometimes grab me too.

And if its funny along with arty, I will definetly stick around.

  118. Lynn says:

I usually like to just look at pictures, so the appearance of the site if very important to me! I seldom read what’s written! I know that’s bad, but I mostly like to just get great project ideas.

Now, if I really like a project, I’ll vistit that blog more often and share it with others that are rubber obsessed as I am!

I think you got some “newbies” this week due to some drama with your Halloween Box…some ladies are so silly and forget that we should be “sharing what we love.”

Your blog is awesome and an inspiration for me to get my butt in gear and improve mine!

Thanks Sharon and keep posting please!!!

  119. Bonnie aka raduse says:

What makes me stop at a blog? Well…

    1. The projects (cards, etc)
    2. Easy instructions/visuals. I am such a visual person. Have a hard time following what my husband calls “manufacture’s suggestions”.
    3. Easy navagation.
    4. The chit chat/sharing yourself, or family, with all of us.
    5. Time, something we all don’t have a lot of so let’s just get right to the point. KWIM?

  120. Jenn says:

I think I am not the only one who was delighted to see you started a blog! 🙂

When I look at blogs, and I look at MANY, I will actually read most of the posts when there are photos included in the posts. I also appreciate humor thown in once in a while. Would love to see a picture of the blog owner on the home page. It helps me ID the blog and who it is that I am learning from, getting to know my “teacher” if you will. I also appreciate the following:

    Quality of photos and cards
    Tutorials
    Measurements
    Tips
Ideas on organizing all of this STUFF that has accumulated in my stamping room
    How to’s on tools

  121. Tandra Boyer says:

Wow I guess I am 121!!! Exlnt blog, I know your numbers will soar!!!

I guess what makes me stay and browse thru a blog is what the projects look like! Good pictures, Easy to see/read, doesnt have to have a tutorial but its nice. Bright colors in projects, creativity and funkiness
draw me in! Fun to read, ditto the humor comment! I can usually get a feel for the persons personality in their writing.
Blogs that have a black bkgrnd and bright writing are very hard to read.
    Im loving yours!!!

  122. Juliana says:

    Relatively LOW!!??!!
    You crack me up!
I like blogs that focus mainly on fresh stamping ideas, cool cards, and a touch of personal posts.

I like yours (I am a subscriber 🙂 ). You are doing great.
(I think you could have the WORST format in the world, poor grammar/writing, and I still would come back !!)

I return to blogs that are:
    – posted regularly
    – have unique designs
    – list materials used
    – if necessary, have directions that are clear and easy to follow (not necessarily a tutorial, just the steps or process followed)

Thanks for your blog. It’s one I now go to regularly.

I am first attracted to artistry of a card. The colors, design, layout, and that extra something (creativity?) will draw me in. I also enjoy photos of the environment of the stamper, maybe a garden, a hike, or the blossoming of a forsythia after a long winter.

  125. Susan says:

The very first thing that attracts me to look further is the quality/style of the stamper’s work. Second is the instructions – easy yet detailed enough for me to follow. For some reason I can’t explain, I find myself immediately turned off by very dark (black, dark blue) backgrounds. I guess it just messes with my eyes!! LOL I also immediately click off a new blog where there is music playing!! Can’t check them out at work if music is going to pop up. I guess it the cards/projects I see match my style and are appealing to me, I get very curious and stay for a while. Even if I only think I may like their style, I check out the previous months posts and sometimes find some amazing samples! I also closly follow those that post daily. I just love that so many of you are so incredibly creative and are so willing to share with the rest of us!! Thanks!!

This first thing that catches my eye is the blog name, I love them. What keeps me coming back is if they visit mine, since there name is right there. I love the tutorials and other things besides cards.

    Sharon,

I have just recently started looking at blogs. I don’t have one…yet. They are truely fascinating.

What I look for is the stlye in which the blog is laid out. If it’s appealing to the eyes. The ease of cruising the blog. I look for card’s that would be easy to CASE for a workshop (of course giving credit to the designer). The helpfulness of having the reciepes to the cards.

I look for COLOR and DESIGN. Your’s Sharon, are always superb!!

  129. Karen says:

What I look for is an artist (and you truly are one) whose work is elegant and yet simple enough that I may even be able to do something similiar to it. I find myself returning to blogs that have regular postings.

Thanks so much for your efforts and sharing with all of us.

I wander around blog land looking for something different or funny (as in humorous). Love your stuff!!

  131. Angela says:

What makes me stop and look at a blog?

    1. The beauty of the card
    2. The detailed instructions so that I can scraplift the card.
    3. The simplicity of the card.

I am also new to this “blogging”. I have not started my own yet because I spend too much time checking out everyone else’s blog. It is so amazing to me that there are so many talented people out there. What would we do without the internet!!!!

  132. Kelly says:

For me it has a lot to do with the work, color, layout etc. if I like the first one the I scroll down and keep scrolling down usually until I am done the page…..LOL!
    Then I’m hooked!

  133. Natasha says:

What attracts me to a blog? Usually vibrant, unique, well photographed projects. I also look for full-feeds only (like yours). It just makes the ever-growing list perusal go faster.

I’m glad you started a blog Sharon! I love your work and it’s nice to “hear” from you outside of the forum!

  134. Jayne says:

Love your blog! For me what keeps me coming back is either interesting layouts or interesting articles. I love how to’s and I love hearing the bloggers thoughts, too. TFS

  135. DeeDee says:

Congratulations on your new blog. Thanks to Debbie Olson for providing your link. I am visual person. Your projects are easy to follow instructions and visuals. Great tutorials and sketches with supplies listed and even the measurements that helps.
Pick me, Pick me! Love that new Peace set. I have seen your creation using this new set. It is so beautiful card.
    Thanks for sharing.

I am always drawn to the style of the card layouts, and appreciate the instructions that accompany the layouts. I know right away if I want to subscribe, and truly enjoy all the blogs I am now subscribed to. I’m sure they are a lot of work and I appreciate all the time and energy that goes into posting a blog. Thank you for all your creative ideas.

Your blog is awesome! I’m so glad you joined the blogging world because your work is amazing. The blogs I visit have great cards, simple instructions, great tutorials and tips. Thanks for the chance to win!

WOW! Sharon, you have a blog now! I will add to my favs for sure (I only have 4 others as I am VERY picky). What makes me stop and look at a person’s blog is the cards I see them make. If they are my style, I will hop on over to the blog and see what other items they have posted and how they made the card. I also like instructions on unique or difficult elements on a card. Being a newish stamper, I read blogs mostly for info and inspiration.

I am so thrilled you have a blog now, as you know, you have ALWAYS been my favorite stamper and inspiration! Hugs, michelle

  139. Taylor says:

You got a blog!!! Good for you! I love you stuff 🙂

When I am blog-cruising, the first thing that catches my eye is a good layout and good projects. Fun details and helpful hints/tips/instructions help me to linger a bit longer. Details are always good, especially for stampers who consider themselves *works-in-progess*, like me!

  140. Trish Brunkhart says:

The first time I saw your blog I subbed on. I loved it. I backed up and looked at every part of it. I love blogs like yours..fun stuff that I can really do. Can you tell I am a caser. Keep up the good work here.
