This card is the ultimate in simplicity — and it’s quick and easy. It fits the open end envelopes by SU. I used 12 x 12 paper to cut the card base. It is one simple image, colored, double matted, and adorned with a gorgeous, wide wired ribbon. I just got this lovely hostess set and I do love it!!! I can see aquick and prettygift set of cards made from this set with its pretty floral images. It so reminds me of two old time favorites — Long Stemmed and Art of Life!!! I love the long, narrow stemmed flowers!!!

My flowers/berries and leaves are colored with reinkers and an aquapainter. I then did the little tips/stems of the berries with the small tip of a Chocolate Chip marker. I used the Old Olive marker’s narrow tip to color in the narrow stem. I added little highlight marks to the berries with the Signo White Gel Pen. Double matted the image, attached to card and tied on a ribbon — that’s it — done in no time!!! I must add, it was this type of a super simple image and card that I first loved to make when I began stamping 8 years ago; however, I didn’t have, and I guess maybe people weren’t using quite as much, all the pretty ribbons back then. Things change over time — and that’s the fun of it!!!

All products are by SU! except the ribbon, which is by Offray from Wal-Mart

  • Stamps: Oh, So Lovely
  • Paper: Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Old Olive
  • Ink: Black Stazon. Reinkers in Ballet Blue and Old Olive. Markers in Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.
  • Accessories: 1 1/2″ wide wired ribbon by Offray from Wal-Mart
  • Measurements: Card is 3 1/4″ x 6″, top fold, cut from 12 x 12 paper. Main image panel is 2 1/4 x 4 3/4″.

Thanks much for looking — hope you can find time to play this weekend, or anytime!!!

Another great challenge. This could be done so many ways and goes so quickly. Here is my attempt. Even though it doesn’t qualify for the SC challenge I think that I am going to send it to a friend who is a cancer survivor. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/693822?cat=500&ppuser=133151 Thanks for the inspiration again this week!

Your card is wonderful. Great challenge because I love simple cards, but it was a real challenge. I am not only bow challenged, I am also knot challenged. Even with the instructions (with pictures) that I found on Splitcoast, it took about 30 minutes to make a good knot. Guess I need to take a bow making class. Hope you enjoy my card.

Oh Sharon, I so, so love this beautiful, yet simple, card. Everything is so perfect! I want to make up a whole stack of these and stamp the sentiment on it as I mail out. I have a class tomorrow afternoon and, for the first time in my life, I’ve lost a stamp that I need for that class, I’m in a panic, I’ve searched everywhere. Today I’m going to have to redesign two of the projects and hope my customers are very understanding. Once I’m finished, I’m going to try to join in this challenge, I absolutely love it!

  11. Bev says:
