Stamp Simply Sympathy
This evening I made 2 sympathy cards that, unfortunately, I need to send out right away. I wanted to play the Featured Stamper Challenge over at SCS on Sunday, but didn’t get a chance, so I worked it into my sympathy cards this evening. I knew I wanted to make some rather clean and simple cards and I found some great layouts in ink-e’s gallery. You can check it out here. And pay close attention to her work because she is only 18 years old — this lovely young lady has a bright future ahead of her!!! Thank you for the inspiration, Emily! Your gallery is just beautiful!!! Here are my cards:
These cards are almost SUO (Stampin’ UP only), but I do think that sentiment set may be retired (Warmest Regards)and I also used a Cuttlebug to emboss the row of dots. Gee, I’ve almost forgotten how fun it is to play with my SU sets and how much I LOVE the silky smooth feel of the Whisper White paper. I only wish it were a bit heavier! My images are from Always and are embossed in white.
This is Emily’s card I cased for this card. The DP used is from Urban Garden — SUCH a lovely paper pack!!! My colors are Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy, with a little pop of Kiwi Kiss. The dry embossing is done with one of those narrow little folder strips that come in packs of about 5 — I really like them for just a touch of embossing — adds so much interest so easily!
This is Emily’s card I cased for this card. Same supplies as on the other card. The ribbon is SU’s white taffeta. I really do like these CAS cards — quick to make, easy to mail — simple and kind of pretty, in a simple way — I’m happy!
And if any of you liked the can I altered yesterday, CHECK OUT what Joan Fricker just uploaded — OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What gorgeous work!!!
Thanks much for stopping in again. I’ll be on a CAS kick I think for the rest of the week and maybe I’ll play with more SU sets — I really DO need some new ones!!! Hope you had a great Monday and wishing you the best in the week to come!!!

These are beautiful cards, Sharon. I love the dots at the bottom. What a great effect. I also love the choice of colors and papers. Very pretty, and “quiet”, for a sympathy card.
ohhh this is just gorgeous! I love the xolors…perfect for a sypathy card! Off topic now, thank you for visiting my blog…and the fact that you left a comment really meant a lot to me! I lovey your blogy!
Beautiful sympathy cards Sharon, Emily’s gallery is fabulous! I love the splash of Old Olive in these designs.
Such pretty cards! The rounded corners on these designs really caught my eye. Thanks for sharing!
Simply beautiful, Sharon…love the pop of Kiwi Kiss…my brain would never have gone there but it’s just the right touch. To quote a song, …”You amaze me” !
These are beautiful, Sharon. Sorry you need them though.

These a quite lovely. Very serene.
Nice cards! I’m with you on the SU Whisper White CS. I know it takes ink beautifully but wish it were heavier as the card base seems so flimsy compared to other CS.
Lovely cards!! Love the images done in white – very striking. TFS
These cards are so lovely I am just sorry you have the need for two sympathy cards. TFS.

Simply gorgeous! I love that paper too!
The kind of cards we wish we never needed…but these are beautiful. I love the soft blues and the white images.
Just gorgeous, Sharon. Love these!
Simply beautiful and perfect for sympathy cards. TFS your cards and such a young talented stamper.
Two beautiful cards with a lovely set. Love how you changed up each one to suit the images. The Kiwi Kiss is just the right added touch of color. I feel the same about Whisper White–so smooth but not very heavy. Sometimes the lighter weight is good, such as for layering, but not so great for a card base.
These are beautiful creations!! Love the different tones of blues!! TFS!! 🙂
