A JustRite Cupcake
This card started out being for the CAS challenge at SCS — but now I’m wondering if it’s a bit much for CAS — do I dare upload it into that challenge? It IS the right layout required for today — decisions, decisions.I’ll think on it for a bit — LOL!!
Well, I used something new again today — fun!!! Today I broke into my brand new round 2 3/8″Wood Stamper by JustRite. It comes with a bonus center — this fun cupcake — AND with the 25 pt font to fit in the outer border — and I’ll tell you, it’s a super easy size to work with, being easy to see and easy to grab. This is all VERY GOOD!!! Here’s my card:
Just a fun card! CAS???? Truly, I do think it is, but perhaps the challenge police will disagree with me — LOL!!! My image is multi-layered using my Petite Circle Nestabilities and I used my fun 3/8″ gingham checked ribbon by May Arts. I like the 3/8″ width — it’s just a tad wider than the 1/4″ and I just prefer a bit *more* ribbon! Not a lot to explain here, so I’ll just show you a few close up photos:
My image is Copic colored with Dazzling Diamonds applied to the frosting. A cropadile punched holes for my ribbon. And a Kaiser Pearl serves as a black cherry on top of my cupcake!!
Here’s my Copic colors. This simple image was so quick and easy to color — my kind of coloring!
Here’sa lookat the 2 3/8″ Wood Stamper in its blister pack complete with the bonus center and 25pt Times New Roman font. Letters are missing because they are on the stamper, which you can see here:
Now, to create the project I made today, I did NOT stamp them as the unit shown above. I first stamped the cupcake (before adding the border letters) onto white cardstock, colored it and cut it with my Circle Nesties. I then removed my cupcake center and inserted all my border letters and then stamped my circular sentiment onto a yellow sheet from the DP pack and cut it out. I then cut a black mat for my cupcake and a black scalloped mat for my sentiment, layered them, and done!!! When layering circles like this, I always like the sharp contrast from adding black mats — just a favorite thing of mine! Then it just gets finished off perfectly by adding a few more black accents — in this case, the black gingham ribbon and black pearl.

Your card is just beautiful!! I always love the simplicity and elegance you achieve in your cards.
I’m not sure whether this is CAS or not, either. I have some of my own cards that I think are CAS but don’t *strictly* go by the *CAS challenge rules*, so I post them simply as CAS and not to any specific CAS challenge. Maybe they should have a new category – Simply Elegant! Your card would be a shoo-in for that category 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Sharon this is delightful!! Love your layered cupcake and that is one of my favorite background dps!! I have yet to use it myself though! Really cute!!
