And here’s what I created for today:
For starters, apologies for this poor photo. I lack in photography skills. The layer behind the focal image is that highly polished Gold Mirricard and it truly is reflective like a mirror. I have never yet been able to get a decent photo when I use that paper — sorry — but it does look so nice IRL. Anyway, moving on, my sentiment is stamped over a pre-printed image from the Christmas Journal Note pad. It is Friday, Stamp Simply day, so I’m sure you KNEW I’d take the easy way out — LOL!!! And it worked great!
I first adhered my cut image onto a piece of cardstock for more stability as I was going to heat emboss it. My sentiment from Christmas Treasures by JustRite was stamped in VersaMark and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I then took my VersaMark pad and DTP’d (direct to paper) all the edges, then embossed them with the same gold for sort of an old world look. Nothing too fussy, just quickly DTP’d my edges, and it comes how it may — no rocket science involved here!
See the cutout? It was done with my 3/4″ SU punch. I knew I wanted my bow to be over a bit more than the image would allow, so I made the cutout to allow for my bow to scootch over that much more. The edges of my cream panel are edged with a Marvy Gold Calligraphy pen — super easy.

Oh Sharon, this is just STUNNING! This totally makes me want to go start over with my card! LOL I LOVE the soft pinks, and that gorgeous bow! Love how you edged everything with the gold marker, too! That finishes it off so perfectly!
Wow, is this GORGEOUS, Sharon! I love the embossed sentiment and that gorgeous mauve ribbon…..breathtaking!
I’m not sure how well it will work with your reflective paper, but I might suggest you try placing a sheer cloth between your light source and your card to help diffuse the flash of light bouncing off of your cardstock. See if that helps. In any event, the photo you have here in no way detracts from the gorgeousness of your card.
Simply stunning! A great idea. Thanks for sharing. Elaine

Absolutely gorgeous Sharon! I would never think to use the pink ribbon and it’s SO PERFECT for this image. I also never think to emboss over images. That’s something I need to try, this is absolutely stunning! I love the embossing around the edges of the panel, it gives your card a truly vintage look, so beautiful!

Well, this is just gorgeous, Sharon, and I see nothing wrong with your photography skills. The mirrored cardstock shows up exactly as it should, though I know it’s much more stunning IRL. Love the overstamped sentiment. It feels good to get another Christmas card done, doesn’t it? Now, to be sure and mail them out!
