Shabby Tea Inspired Sympathy

Today I needed to make a quick sympathy card and I thought the photo inspiration over at The Shabby Tea Room was just perfect.  Here’s the inspiration photo:

I thought the soothing brown tones were perfect for the masculine sympathy card I needed:

I have some mental issues with putting bows on masculine cards (LOL!), but today I thought it was OK as this card is being mailed to a widow and daughters, though be it in memory of their father, I figured this one simple bow would be OK.  I used a versatile sympathy set by JustRite called Thinking of You, cut on a Spellbinders Labels 4 Nesties.  The Cappella paper, Wrinkled Ribbon and Kaiser Pearl are all contained in the last KIT I’ve made — The Stamp Simply Basic Grey Cappella KIT.  All items can be purchased individually as well.  I used my favorite black ink, VersaFine Onyx Black.  The bow was made on the Bow Easy.  Just a quick card — easy, peasy!

Some pretty things to see:

A month or two back The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store was the prize sponsor over at The Shabby Tea Room.  The Stamp Simply October Afternoon Thrift Shop Kit was won by Clare, all the way over in Ireland.  Well, as a matter of communicating with Clare to get her winnings over to her I, of course, checked out her blog.  Amazing stuff!  Then after Clare got her prize package she shared some creations using the Thrift Shop Kit.  Many of you may have seen these already, but if not, they are definitely worth a look/see!

Gorgeously vintage.  See the full post here.

A fabulous combination of Thrift Shop KIT prints and ribbon can be seen in full here

And an amazing combination of ribbons and lace, with hand folded lace flower and pleated twill, can be fully seen on this post.

And once you are cruising Clare’s blog — you can NOT miss out on this DARLING playhouse she and her husband have made for their little daughter.  OH MY!!! What a little girls dream come true — check it out here!!!

Thank you so much, Clare, for being so kind and allowing me to share your creative endeavors here — MUCH appreciated!!!

  1. Simply said … just perfect, Sharon! I need a masculine simpathy card too, my husband’s uncle’s 17 year old son was killed a few weeks ago in a car wreck – driving with 3 other kids in the car. So tragic and such an unbelievable loss. Words cannot express the sorrow and sympathy we feel. I think your card will be just pefect. Thanks for sharing with us this week in the Tea Room 🙂
