Gabrielle’s Beautiful Butterfly

The Gabrielle 6×6 pad by Bo Bunny offers some GORGEOUS butterflies, and the one I chose for this card captured my heart instantly:

I love the vintage inspired butterflies and flourishes in this pad – Gabrielle by Bo Bunny — a 6×6 pad, and I wanted to showcase this beautiful white butterfly and use it as my focal image, making for an easy card project.

All coordinates to the Gabrielle Line can be seen here.

I thought this You.Inspire.Me sentiment was perfect with this butterfly.  It’s from JustRite’s new mini sentiment set called Just Because Set.  It coordinates with the Happy Everything Tag Making Kit (complete kit with sentiments, stamper, dies).  The sentiments in Just Because can be used with the new Mini Rectangle Clear Stamper, or with the stamper included in the Happy Everything Tag Making Kit (now special priced).

To make this little sentiment tag, I cut a strip of white cardstock 1/2″ wide and it was easy to stamp the sentiment on straight using either of the two stampers mentioned above as you can see through them and being rectangle they give you a good straight line to work with.  I then just clipped the banner tails with my scissors into the V shape and elevated the center with a pop dot, gluing down the tails.  Quick and fun!

Ink used was my favorite for crisp, clear sentiments – VersaFine Onyx Black.

I also used Kaisercraft Rhinestones – Silver, for a bit of sparkle and glitz.

The lace trim is from a Kaisercraft Lace Card – White.

The velvet is May Arts 1/8″ Velvet – Turquoise.

The bow is May Arts Silk -  1/4″ White.

The flowers are the Prima Fairytale Roses – French White and Teal.

Scor-tape is used to adhere the ribbon — the 1/8″ is perfect for the velvet.

This card measures 6.5 x 4.75″.  I am enjoying making cards a bit larger of late, allowing me to use the full design incorporated into the 6×6 sheet.  This size card fits perfectly in an A6 sized Clear Box.  Most of my cards have some amount of dimension, usually from flowers, and I immediately pop them into a Clear Box once made.  It protects them from damage and makes for great presentation.  The Clear Boxes come with clear seals for the ends and can also be mailed.

All items used on this card are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, all linked above.

A few cards to see and some goodbye’s to say:

This seems to be the week for some goodbye wishes — first I’d like to wish Deb Saaranen an uneventful, fun and safe transition into her new life. She has 2 big moves in the next couple months.  You can read her post here and at the same time check out a fun new release by LaBlanche that I’ll have in stock as soon as it become available.   But no matter how large the world seems, we are still all very close here in blogland and Deb will be popping in as her time and schedule permits during these next couple months of transition — and I know I’ll be SO anxious to hear from her and see her new creations!  BEST WISHES, DEB!!!!

And another goodbye goes out to Linda Duke.  Sadly, Linda will be leaving our Design Team here at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, but we can certainly still look forward to her beautiful creations using  products from May Arts and Prima that we all love so much!  And once again Linda has WOW’d us with a gorgeous creation from her talented hands — you can check it out here.  I am sorry to say but I am currently out of stock on the stamp set she used, Bird Houses, but more are on order and will arrive shortly, so if you care to be added to the waiting list, feel free to send me an email ([email protected]).  BEST WISHES, Linda, in all your continued creative endeavors and I know you’ll enjoy the extra time with those precious grandchildren!

I hope you all had an enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend.  We had rain pretty much of the weekend, but today is sunny so far with promises to reach 80 degrees — we haven’t had temps that high yet, so it’ll surely be a treat!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in!  Have a good week ahead!!!  See you soon!!!

Sharon, your card is stunning! I LOVE the colors, papers, ribbon and lace, WOW. I could tell
immediately, when you said you haven’t reached 80 degrees yet, that you live in a place where I would like to spend the late spring and summer. Sun. & Mon. 92 degrees. Today is supposed to be the same. It hasn’t rained since Friday! Our so called “spring” seems to be this way all the time…chilly and rain to summer! TFS.
