Serene Green Sympathy Card

I needed to get a sympathy card in the mail today.  I thought the serene greens in the English Rose pad would be a good choice, and I do think they were:

The card is standard A2 sized, and it’ll go into an A2 Clear Box for protection and mailing.

The paper pad, English Rose by Kaisercraft, is available individually or as part of the Stamp Simply  English Rose KitClick here to see both.

Both stamped sentiments are from a really pretty sympathy set called Forever in our Hearts by Verve.  It offers a variety of sentiment options.  The ribbon detail uses:  May Arts Satin Pleated Ribbon (5/8″ Ivory), 1/8 Velvet (black), and Prima Fairytale Roses (French White).  I also used a black Kaisercraft PearlScor-Tape was used to adhere the ribbon.  The 1/8″ works perfectly under the 1/8″ velvet.  Ink used for crisp, clear sentiments is VersaFine Onyx Black.

All items used are available from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.

I’ve been really busy of late preparing for a Crafter’s Rummage Sale.  This is another endeavor in my never-ending quest to find more space!  It’s a rather non-traditional rummage sale where I am scheduling those interested to come in small groups or individually as the sale is inside my house rather than out of doors or in the garage.  Sadly, I am selling ALL of my SU sets and a lot of  other brand name stamps, all paper packs I’ve opened and made one card from (so sad), and a variety of ribbon spools (non-MayArts) and miscellaneous embellishments.  I will also have most of my sewing fabric stash (I haven’t touched my machines in years, other than to sew on cards), and other sewing odds-n-ends.

If there are any local readers within driving distance who would like to attend, please email me at [email protected].  I am in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (Baraga County).

Wish me luck clearing out and cleaning up!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in today.  Hope you have a wonderful, productive week ahead!  We have had SO much rain.  It’s about time to be making hay, but way, way too wet!!!  But, on the good side, it’s great for the gardens and I don’t have to go out and water!!!

See you soon!!!

  1. This is beautiful, I love the soft colors.

  2. Gorgeous card, Sharon! I am on a similar quest. I have over 120 SU sets to sell. Unfortunately I do not have a paypal account, so I’ve listed them on Craigslist. That’s not going so well! *sigh* We are also in a very wet weather pattern. My lawn is brilliant green and my flowers/plants are flourishing nicely. It was, however, strange to have to put a jacket on this morning to go for my blood work! It’s actually snowing just up the mountain from us. I’m thinking we’re going to have a very short summer!

    Hugs to you!

Hi, I would love to check out your list of SU stamps you have for sale. There are a number of sets that I am looking for. Or, I could email of list of the sets I am looking for and you could let me know if you have them on your ‘for sale’ list.
      Thanks – Sharon

I really like your Sympathy card…the seafoam green is soothing and the sentiment comforting. Always enjoy your talent! I’m thinking about all that nice, cool weather in the UP and how wonderful it would be to travel up for the sale. We traveled/camped across the US and Canada for over 25 years and the UP was one of my favorite places. Unfortunately we’re baking her in the south and our flower gardens are wilting….temps have been in the 90’s for weeks. I’d love to come to your rummage sale but it’s just too far. After your sale could you advertise some of your leftover items on your website?

    • Yes, I will most certainly list any leftover items here once the sale is over. I have WAY too much to list now — a need for photos, descriptions, etc — would be a never-ending job to get it all up — but once the pile is smaller, I will most certainly list items here. Thanks for asking and wish you could come, too!

I wish you all the luck in the world, but this is not fair…I live to far away…can’t see myself driving from WA state to MI, but it would be fun. I love your sympathy card it is so loving in that special time of need. Again, BEST OF LUCK!

Your card is wonderful! I LOVE the pleated and velvet ribbon. I must have the Webster’s Pages “birthday blessings” stamp, I feel another order coming on. The ribbon reminds me of the pleater attachment that went on my mom’s sewing machine – it really fascinated me. What awesome memories you bring about.

Oh, how I wish I could travel!!!! Since May 8th through this Sat. past it has been non-stop with the family…three major graduations, birthday’s, and a wedding. I think my family is trying to kill me, lol, I am a physical mess right now. I wish you nothing but good for your sale. I will pray for you and all the people that attend, may everyone have a joyful and kind spirit. TFS.
