Wedding Card from Leftovers

Published by at 3 52 pm under JustRite Products,Kaiser,Wedding Cards

This wedding card was made from leftovers — not really scraps, but leftovers.  Let me explain — many of you know that our oldest son and his beautiful bride were married about a week ago.  Well, when we made the 750 mile trip for the wedding, do you think I had a card ready for them?  Of course not, much to my dismay.  So I made one today that I’ll get in Monday’s mail.    And that card I will share with you in early September as I’ll have a couple other little things to coordinate with it — but anyway, in making that card today, I ended up with many small leftovers — you know, the pieces that you think you’re going to use but don’t because they are a tad too big, or too small, or they should have been cut out of a different color sheet, or cut with a different die, etc., etc.  Maybe all of you get it right the first time and don’t end up with those leftover pieces, but believe me, I often end up with these leftovers.  Today’s wedding card was made entirely with leftover pieces (aside from the background sheet of designer paper), and here it is:

This card is standard A2 sized and uses paper from Kaisercraft’s After Five Collection.   The cardstock is SU’s Pink Pirouette.

The stamp used is Loving Thoughts  by JustRite.

The dies used for the layers are all by SpellbindersSquares, Lacey Squares, Fancy Tags Two.  Many of the Spellbinders sets in stock are at reduced prices in an effort to make room for the new sets arriving in the fall.

Kaisercraft Rhinestones in Silver are used on the tag sentiment.

Dimension is created using 3D Foam Squares.

The Silver Mirrored Cardstock is a new store item.

The printed designer paper is from Kaisercraft’s After Five Collection (the 6×6 pad).

The ribbon is May Arts 100% Silk – 1/4″ in Pink.  It is merely wrapped around the card and hand tied into a bow.  I used 1/8″ Scor Tape to help hold the narrow ribbon in place so it doesn’t slip.

The inside is computer generated with scripture from 1 Corinthians 13.

And here’s the card safely tucked inside an A2 Clear Box, a great way to present a card with dimension.

All items used on this project are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.

using “left overs”!!! Love 1 Corinthians 13….had it read at my wedding (as so many do), nine
years ago this past Thursday. Keep up the great work…love your inspiration!

  2. Your daughter in law (and any future daughter in laws) are so lucky to have a crafty MIL! This is stunning and I’m quite certain will be a keeper/keepsake for them to treasure!

Beautiful card and love the pink.

I have a question about the mirrored cardstock. Did you use it behind the lacey square and can you stamp on it or other uses? Thanks.

Beautifully elegant. Love the focal sentiment and how you have used the dies for it. Gorgeous as always 🙂 BTW, thank you SO much for that gorgeous bunch of ribbons and flowers I had the joy of winning. I have already put some lace and flowers to use on my Verve Guest Diva cards for this month’s release. Totally fabulous mixture of goodies (((Hugs))).

  8. What a beautiful wedding card, Sharon! Congratulations to your son and new DIL!

By the way, I met your twin this weekend when I worked the Paper Arts Festival show in Novi. There were some ladies there from Canada, and I told her that she was the spitting image of you. I took her picture and will have to send it to you so you can see. 🙂

  9. What a great story, a shopping trip of 2 turns into a shopping event of 13. And of course more lasting memories were created as a result

  10. I must show my thanks to the writer just for rescuing me from such a crisis. As a result of looking throughout the world-wide-web and seeing thoughts which were not productive, I assumed my entire life was well over. Being alive devoid of the solutions to the difficulties you’ve resolved as a result of your entire site is a serious case, as well as the kind which could have in a negative way affected my entire career if I had not discovered the website. Your personal natural talent and kindness in dealing with almost everything was helpful. I’m not sure what I would have done if I hadn’t come upon such a point like this. I am able to at this point relish my future. Thanks so much for your high quality and effective help. I will not hesitate to propose your web site to any individual who needs to have counseling on this problem.
