Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style – Suede

Welcome to our 2nd week of  Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style.  This week we are showcasing SUEDE, a ribbon some of you many not think of too often, but oh, HOW fun it can be!  I’ll show you my projects and then you can click around to see the rest created by the Design Team.

I made 2 very simple, but different, cards.  One for a guy and one for a girl, likely a little girl.  Here’s the guy card first:

This was an ultra quickie I made for our youngest son’s birthday this week.

This paper is SO yummy for autumn – Bo Bunny’s Forever Fall in 6×6.

This is my FAV go-to birthday stamp – Birthday Blessings by Wordsworth.

Here’s a look at how I did the  5/8″ Double Faced Faux Suede.  It is wrapped around the card and that little loop is just the ribbon folded over on itself.  I use Scor-Tape to help keep the ribbon from slipping when it is wrapped around a card.

I then took 2 buttons from the Forever Fall Buttons and tied them together with Burlap String before adhering to the card.  I really love the button packs that Bo Bunny has come out with to coordinate with their papers — always a perfectly matched button!

All items in the Forever Fall collection in stock can be seen here.

And here’s my little girl card:

I used the pretty new paper by Webster’s Pages – a triple pack in 6×6 calleed Let’s Celebrate/All About Me/Western Romance.   A lot of fun theme’s going on here!  So I could make best use of the full 6″ length of paper, my card is 6″ high and 4.5″ wide.  It’ll go into an A6 Clear Box for storage and presentation.

The suede I used on this card is 5/8″ Ruffled Faux Suede in white.

Prima Fairytale Roses in Orchid and Buttercup.

May Arts Satin String Leaves.

Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate Push Pins.

Kaisercraft Light Pink Rhinestones.

Spellbinders Nested Pennants Die.

JustRite Just Because Mini Sentiment Set used with the Clear Mini Sentiment Stamper.

Also Scor-Tape, VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

Here’s a sideview of that bow under the roses.  It’s not truly a tied bow — I just folded the suede over on itself again, on both sides, and secured with Scor-Tape.  Once the roses are glued on it, it looks just like a real bow.  Super easy and no bulk from a knot.  I use Aleene’s glues — very inexpensive, work well and readily available at super stores and craft stores — I like Fast Grab Tacky Glue and Clear Gel Tacky Glue.  When gluing items with bulk, you do have to hold them in place for a bit, but once the glue grabs, it’s there to stay.

There’s a lot of new Webster’s Pages items in stock.

All Webster’s Pages products in stock can be seen here.

All the new Bo Bunny Collections are in stock as well and can be seen here.

All Suede Ribbon can be seen here.  It is available in precut lengths, full spools and in Sampler packs.

Please note, the FULL SPOOLS of suede are at reduced prices for 3 days only.

All JustRite Sentiments, many at reduced prices, can be seen here.

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.
