Ribbon Inspiraton/Stamp Simply Style – Sweet Baby!

Welcome!  Today for our Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style Hop we are making Sweet Baby cards!  Oh, who doesn’t LOVE to make baby cards?  They are always such a pleasure to make and give — there is truly nothing sweeter than a brand new baby!

Although a variety of products can be used to make a baby themed project, we have added a category in The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store that contains items specific to BABYYou can see it here and I hope you find it helpful.

I hope our creations today offer some inspiration — here’s mine:

Well, if I knew someone expecting twins, a boy and a girl, I’d be all set!  I don’t, so I’ll just keep these handy for when I do need one of them.  They were so easy and fun to do — they are “no stamp” cards, which I do enjoying doing.

The paper used on both cards is from Kaisercraft’s Lullaby — probably my all time favorite baby pad because I LOVE the prints in it — many of the sheets are distinctly adult patterns, but done up in the soft pinks and blues they are PERFECT for the type of baby cards I enjoy making.

I’ve done many baby cards over the last few months using this pad — you can see them all here.

See the gorgeous flocked damask print on this girl card?  LOVE it!  And paired with the tiny dots it is perfect for an upscale baby card.

The focal image sentiments on both cards are cut-outs contained in the Lullaby pad — so easy!

Those sentiments are layered onto panels made with Spellbinders Lacey Squares.

They are mounted with 3D Foam Squares for a bit of elevation.

The Kaisercraft Rhinestones are Light Pink and Soft Blue.

The cardstock used is SU Pink Pirouette and Bashful Blue.

I used 3 different ribbons on these cards, and all of them are included in the brand NEW Ribbon Sampler I put together.  Actually, it is the Blog Candy offered below, so you can check it out when you get down that far.

The first layer of ribbon is 1″ Double Faced Satin.  On top of that I layered 5/8″ Crochet Lace.  Then using the Bow Easy I made bows out of the same 5/8″  Crochet Lace.  And can you see the little satin band around the bow center?  To do that I used the 3/8″ Double Faced Satin and applied 1/4″ Scor Tape to just a few inches of the ribbon, then wrapped the ribbon around the bow center.  With the Score Tape on it, it just *stuck* as I wrapped.  Easy as can be and I kind of like the look, especially for these baby cards.  Then I glued the bows on using Aleene’s glues from superstores.  Just be sure to hold and press until the glue starts to take for a nice, tight hold.

And that about does it for these cards.  OH, they are standard 5.5″ x 4.25″.  If I wanted to squish my lace bows down, they’d go into standard paper envelopes, but I’ll put them into my A2 Clear Boxes.  I’m just addicted to those boxes.  It is SO nice to store your cards in them.  They are SO totally protected and they make such a nice presentation when giving the card.

All items used on these cards are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.
