Wedding Card and a Winner!

Today I have another wedding card.  I’m still working on geting them all done.  This one was made using items recycled from the invitation – always fun to do.  But first we’ll announce the winner of this week’s blog candy for our regular Saturday Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style hop.  This past week we were focusing on Bo BunnyThe girls created some gorgeous projects that you can still see by following links on this post.  This week the winner was selected from right here on my blog, and random.org chose #11 who is:

Renee VanEpps

And here’s what Renee had to say:

So beautiful Sharon!  And I really love that sentiment stamp from Just Rite!  Thanks for the chance to win, love your gift card you made!!!!!!!!

Congrats to you, Renee!  To claim your prize, just email me at [email protected] and I’ll email the Gift Certificate to you.

Thanks to you, Renee for playing along and to everyone else who played as well.  We enjoy when you paticipate, so THANK YOU!

Today’s wedding card uses paper and an embellishment from the invitation.  I always enjoy doing that and I often wonder if the bride ever notices that the card was made with pieces scavenged from her invitation?  The invitations were predominantly black with a bit of a light teal type color, white and a very subtle sort of damask type print under the printed text.  Here’s the result:

The black and turquoise/teal paper were cut from the wedding invitation and the large square rhinestone was used to seal the invitation.

I couldn’t salvage any of the damask patterned paper from the invitation in large enough pieces, so I opted to use this sheet from Enchanted by Bo Bunny.  It’s a wonderful black and white pad with so many beautiful, classic and elegant designs.

You can see all items by Bo Bunny here.

Upon completion my card was inserted into an A2 Clear Box for protection until used, and then for presentation.  It is a standard 4.25 x   5.5″ card.

The Classic Pearl Flourish is by Kaisercraft.

5/8″ Pleated Satin in White.

1/8″ Velvet in Turquoise.

1/2″ Seam Binding in White.

Bow made on the Original Bow Easy.

Rose from Prima’s Trellis Roses in Fontaine.

Scor Tape is used to adhere the ribbon.  The 1/8″ tape is perfect for the 1/8″ Velvet.

Prima Petal Pin in Iced.

Aleene’s glue from superstores is used to hold the floral cluster.  Apply glue generously and hold with fingers a bit until it takes.  Once dry (and it takes a bit) it’s all stuck tight forever!

The card inside uses the same paper and is stamped with LOVE by Our Daily Bread Designs in Versa Fine Onyx Black Ink.

You can see other Wedding items in the Wedding Category.

You can see all stamps by Our Daily Bread Designs here.

The Deluxe Teal Embellishment Kit is available here.

It contains the rose and velvet used on today’s project, plus  other beautiful goodies!

All items used today are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked.

Thank you so much for stopping in today!  I always appreciate your visits.

We were hit with heavy frost this morning.  My potted plants and baskets should be OK under the cover of the porch roof, but I wonder how our little sprouts popping up in the garden survived?

Have a good rest of the week!  I’ll be back on Saturday morning, if not before!

  2. Yay I’m so excited I won a gc!!! Thank you Sharon, and you make it so easy to participate – you and your DT make such gorgeous cards, I always always ALWAYS walk away from a hop inspired and with a new idea in my head! Love this card, I think it’s the perfect amount of damask pattern and negative space 🙂 I just did a bunch of planting yesterday, I waited as long as I could possibly hang on! I would be so upset if we got frost!!!! Good luck to your little baby sprouts!!!!

I love that this design could be for anything, but also as a wedding card it is so beautiful. You always do the inside so perfect too!

Ohhh! Such a lovely wedding card! {Love the color combo.} And, what a unique idea – using the invitation in the making of the card! I’ve not thought of that. I did, however, make my daughter and son-in-law an anniversary card using part of an extra favor. Thank you for providing such GREAT inspiration. I love checking out the cards you make!

I love the teal flowers and the design! I never thought of a wedding card but I think this one will be included in any wedding that I can participate in.
