We Have a Friend in Need. Can You Help?

Published by at 3 00 am under Announcements

All of you who frequent this blog regularly certainly know Darsie — Darsie Bruno.  Well, sadly, tragedy has fallen upon Darsie.  On Tuesday she lost her home to fire and is now having to muddle through the process of trying to figure out what to do — where to live — where to get furniture, clothes, food and all the basics we need daily.

On a positive note, we can give thanks to a gracious God that neither Darsie nor her son were injured.  Praise the Lord!

Many  in our online community are interested in helping.  Darsie was involved with Design Teams for Spellbinders, JustRite and Quiet Fire Creations as well as for us here at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  These companies, along with the folks at Splitcoaststampers, are working together on a fund-raising campaign  If you are able to help as well, there are a couple things happening.

First of all, a PayPal button has been installed over at the JustRite Blog where donations can be made that will be deposited immediately into Darsie’s PayPal account, allowing her to get some of the very basics that she needs right now.

You can find that JustRite post and the PayPal button right here — along with an account of what happened.

Additionally, The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store will be running a separate fundraiser via the sale of Darsie’s next shipment of stick pins, still expected to arrive by the end of the week.  The box of pins was in the house at the time of the fire, but they were all wrapped in plastic and boxed, ready to go to the Post Office.  She got them out and believes they are OK.  I’ll make sure once they arrive.

Once the pins do arrive, they will be posted in the store for sale and the FULL PURCHASE PRICE of each package of stick pins will be donated directly back to Darsie.  This collection of pins is the Shabby Chic Collection, available in six colors, plus one Limited Edition Angel Set.  The pins will be $4.00 per package.

I will show them to you  here, but remember, they are NOT listed in the store  yet.  They will be listed in the store as soon as they arrive and I’ll announce both here and on Facebook when they are in stock.

Here they are — these are SO pretty:

Shabby Chic Yellow

Shabby Chic Teal

Shabby Chic Purple

Shabby Chic Pink

Shabby Chic Green

Shabby Chic Blue

Limited Edition Angel Set

STAY TUNED to this blog and/or The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Facebook Page to know when they are listed in the store.

Again, the FULL PURCHASE PRICE of $4.00 per package will be given back to Darsie once your purchase is made.

You can LIKE The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Facebook Page to make sure the notice comes up on your feed.  You can get there via the Facebook Button at the top of the left sidebar.

Darsie is a true sweetheart, extremely talented and hard-working.  She inspires us regularly with her beautiful projects and creativity.

Now it’s our turn to give back just a little to someone who gives so much to us.

You can leave a comment for Darsie on her blog here.

Again, thank you!

Thanks for stopping in today and thanks for any help you can offer to Darsie. Even a small amount is MUCH appreciated!

My thoughts are with Darsie and her son – thank goodness they got out when they did and are safe. As a member of the firefighting community in my area I am well aware of the traumas people who go through this loss suffer.

  5. […] This is not what you expect to see on a crafter’s blog.  However, there is a story behind this photo and I think it is best told at the following website http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2012/10/11/we-have-a-friend-in-need-can-you-help/ […]

I heard on another blog what happened, I wasn’t sure it was the same Darsie but nevertheless my heart goes out to her and her family. Hoping everything comes back together quickly for her. I will be looking for the pins, I was thinking about getting some anyway and I guess this is just a push in that direction.
