Gift Card Holder for Dad

I rely on this simple gift card holder so often.  They are so quick and easy to make and turn a simple little gift card into something a bit more special.  The basic holder is always the same, but it can be decorated up or down, for him, for her, for baby, etc., so easily.  That’s why I love it!  I made this one for my Dad.  And I hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day today!

The fishtail banners (hand cut from strips of scraps) are attached to a rectangle that is then attached to the card front.

Paper:  Anthem by Bo Bunny

Decorative Sticker:  Anthem by Bo Bunny

Stamps:  Dad by Our Daily Bread Designs (inside and out)

Dies:  Spellbinders Stars Five, Die D-Lites Petite Labels One

Ink:  VersaFine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Antique Linen, applied with a Sponge Dauber

Miscellaneous:  Blue Kaiserscraft Rhinestones, 3D Foam Squares, Scor Tape

The dimensional fishtail banner on top with the rhinestones is a Dimensional Sticker from the Anthem Collection.

This is the pocket in which I can tuck a gift certificate, as well as the small sentiment panel I made, giving me a place to sign.

This sentiment as well is from Dad by Our Daily Bread Design.  (LOVE this set for the men in my life)

Cut and Score Instuctions for Gift Card Holder:

Use 1/2 sheet paper – 5.5 x 8.5″.

Score at 2″ and 6″.  Fold.

The 2″ flap is the pocket (secure up with Scor Tape).

The flap a bit larger is the card front/ top.  Create a decorative panel to adhere to top flap.

Insert gift card, cash, check or little note into pocket.

Done!

Dimensions and score lines can be adjusted to make a holder of any size!  This is the size I most commonly use.  The idea/measurements were picked up years ago from Splitcoaststampers.
