Vintage Christmas Tags – by Barb Schram and Linda Duke
This evening we have two projects to share. One by Barb and one by Linda. Each using the same Spellbinders die as the tag base and the font die set for personalization. We’ll start with Barb’s project.
Barb made this beautifully vintage set of four Christmas tags today for each of her daughters and sons-in-law. And there is no stamping involved! As pretty as they are, they are super quick and easy to make using dies, washi tape and a bit of ribbon. That’s pretty much it! Barb used the beautiful Vintage Christmas paper pad by My Mind’s Eye and cut the tag shapes with one of the Spellbinders Heirloom Ornament Dies, cut the monogram letters with the Spellbinders Font One die set, and then put them together, decorating with washi tape, ribbon, glitter and rhinestones. What a fun project and how easy to mass produce. Do all your cutting at one setting, then come back another time to put them together (the really fun part!). I love to use brown paper gift bags at Christmas and these would look so wonderful on them! Take a look yourself:
Barb did a fabulous job taking advantage of the design on the paper sheet as she placed her ornament die for cutting! She then hand cut the MERRY from the paper pad and used her Font Dies to cut the “S” for her daughter’s name. What a fun use for the ornament dies!
You can find Barb’s post on her blog here.
Barb used:
Paper and Washi Tape: Vintage Christmas by My Mind’s Eye
Dies: Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornaments, Font One Uppercase
Ribbon: Seam Binding – Cream, Mimi Brown, Tropic Wine, Moss, Blue; Satin String Leaves – Olive; Metallic String – Silver
Accents: Tim Holtz Distress Glitter – Clear Rock Candy; Kaisercraft Rhinestones
Adhesives: Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue; 3D Foam Squares
And here we see the ornament tag made for Sarah’s husband.
This is the tag for Barb’s daughter, Lindsey. Again, Barb hand cut the tree and JOY from the paper pad. She was determined to make use of all the scraps left after die cutting the basic ornament shapes. And she succeeded!
Notice the darling little leafy accent on the “O”. Made with the String Leaves — fun little accent!
And here is Lindsey’s tag along with the one for her husband. On his tag Barb used the Washi Tape that coordinates with this collection.
I’m sure they will all LOVE their tags! They have a very talented MAMA!!!
