Valentines for Your Sweet Hearts – by Sheri Holt

Today Sheri created a fun project for Valentine’s Day which can be used in several different ways. And it’s quick and easy, too, which is always a bonus. She started with a Valentine card for her husband. She used hearts and pretty paper, but added a more masculine looking touch with wide striped ribbon which really balances the feminine touches to make this perfect to give to the man in your life! Then Sheri also made multiple, separate hearts. If your card had a pocket you could tuck them inside, OR  they could be used to tuck into places all over the house, briefcases, lunch boxes, etc. where they would be found throughout the day – how FUN. OR they would make darling little exchange Valentines for school children. They could be dressed up with rhinestones or little bows if a little girl wanted, or left more plain for little boys. There are so many options with this fun project! Let’s take a look:

This Valentine is perfect to give to a husband – not too filly, but yet still most definitely a Valentine for your love!

You can find Sheri’s post on her blog here.

Paper: Rosarian by Prima

Stamps: Sweet Hearts by JustRite

Dies: Lace Hearts by Spellbinders

Ribbon: May Arts 1.5″ Grosgrain Ribbon – Black/ivory

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Adhesives: Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue; 3D Foam Squares

And these are the individual hearts mentioned above. Aren’t they sweet! They sure remind me of those little candies — were they called Sweet Hearts, just like the stamp set? I’m thinking so, but can’t recall for sure.

The hearts and sentiments were stamped with various colors of ink (black, red, pink) onto various colors of cardstock (white, red, pink) and cut out with the coordinating die set.

This would even be a project children could almost do themselves. They could stamp, you could align and tape the die over the stamped image, and they could crank it through your die cut machine. I’m sure most children would LOVE making these hearts! Actually, this is a good idea for a project for my Sunday School class with a modification to include a Bible verse. Thanks for the inspiration, Sheri!

    I LOVE this valentine card! The striped ribbon is just the right element in bringing the florals and cutwork hearts together. This is a beautiful card!

    Hi, Sharon;

    You are correct about the Sweethearts. I was pretty sure you were right, but just in case I double checked on google.com. They have them for sale at an on line site called Bulk Candy. TFS.
