Sunday School Craft/Gift Project – by Sharon Johnson

Published by at 8 00 pm under Uncategorized

Each Christmas I ask my Sunday School students what kind of craft project they’d like to do. This year the choices given them were a tree ornament, a frig magnet or a gift for their Moms. They unanimously chose a gift for their Moms. What sweet kids! The choice then was a candle or soap.  Again, they unanimously chose soap. There is a wildly popular home made goat milk soap in our local area that everyone loves, so that is what they wanted to give.

I had them use a crimper (remember that must-have item from the 90’s???) to create a band for the soap. They thought it was absolute magic – LOL! They then used burlap ribbon to tie around the crimped band.

They made a simple 3×3 card to insert in the bag with the soap and a fun little tag to hang on the bag handle. The bags were purchased from Wal-Mart and I just grabbed some cardstock that went with the color scheme. (An SU in-color, probably as old as my crimper!)

Here’s the supplies used:
