With a Smile and a Thanks – by Sharon Johnson

Today I have some flat for mailing cards to share that were created for one of our Saturday card classes. Again, the ladies do like cards flat for mailing, so that was my goal. We kept the layout simple and used some bold die cut sentiments atop a smaller scaled graphic print.

Smile 500x611

This card was made using the Halftone Smile stamp as well as the die.

Can you see that after stamping and cutting the smile, another smile was die cut in black and offset in the back to create a shadow effect to allow the smile to stand out a bit more.

ThanksBlue 500x634

For this card we used the Thanks die only, not the stamp, though the coordinating stamp would work perfectly here, too!

We also used another set called Label Love for the black sentiment. This is a favorite little set. I love how, when stamped in black, these resemble the tags made with those older style hand held label makers.

I always enjoy black accents — black just seems to make the other colors POP!

And here’s another version with the Thanks die and a different sentiment from Label Love.

The orientation is just flipped on this card.

Again, we used Enamel Dots as they are a bit more mailer friendly than the sharper rhinestones.

And these cards are all a bit larger at about 6.5 x 5″.

Here’s my complete supply list:

Halftone Thanks by Altenew (stamp and coordinating die)

The stamp set was not used today, but just had to show it to you as it is the counterpart to the die we did use.

Label Love by Altenew

This is SUCH a fun set to have on hand.

We just stamped the sentiments in black and hand cut so they would appear to be like the labels from the old label makers.
