Thinking of you … and sending deepest sympathy.

So often I hear you all talking about how you don’t like to make sympathy cards. Clearly, I think I’m the odd duck here, but I truly enjoy making them. And, sadly, I make far more sympathy cards than any other type. Making the card gives you quiet time to reflect on the loved one you are remembering and honoring in your little work of art. I always try to make my sympathy card reflect the personality or the likes of the one deceased in the hope it will bring some sense of pleasure or comfort to those left to receive the card. It’s just something I truly enjoy doing.

And that being said, I can not take credit for the lovely sympathy card we are showcasing today. It was created by Deb Saaranen. She watercolored the Summer Roses from our Floral Cluster Series, and the result is so very soft and pretty and lady-like. I think it is just the perfect feminine sympathy card. Take a look:

Deb stamped her image in brown ink which gives a softer look than the black we all use so often.

She then watercolored her floral using a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Tim Holtz Oxide Inks.

The somewhat chalky looked achieved is so very pretty.

The result is beyond gorgeous – don’t you agree?

Also, Deb is a huge fan of using watercolor paper for her entire card, not just the image she is watercoloring. It gives a nice weight and heft to the card, as you will note.

The sentiment begins on the card front and then concludes on the inside.

This is a truly beautiful card that I know someone will appreciate.

Floral Cluster Summer Roses by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – NEW!

Once again, I want to point out that there are four (4) stamp sets in our Floral Cluster Series. Each stamp set features a different floral cluster, but the unique aspect of this release is that EACH cluster can be cut using the SAME die. So all four stamp sets require only ONE die set! HOW COOL IS THAT! We are pretty excited about this. It’s a great money saver to have one die set coordinate with four stamp sets.
