Taste and See (Coffee Card) – by Julie Gearinger

Julie is here today with a lovely coffee card that is a fairly quick make and an interesting mix of clean and simple with grunge. It has a whole lot of goodness going on, but when you dissect how it was made, it’s very easy without a lot of working parts. Take a look:
Don’t you just LOVE all this rich brown flavor!
Julie created that luscious background by repeatedly stamping the block/collage stamp in our JAVA set.
She then took one of the dies from the Mixed Media #1 set by Tim Holtz and cut out the lower left corner of her stamped background panel allowing the white to show through. With the Mixed Media Dies you are using the negative space left over, not the positive which is cut out (small scraps in this case).
I LOVE the contrast of the clean white with the grungy coffee background.
Julie then created her die cut coffee cup using our JAVA set and added a bit of die cut lace to the cup.

Totally LOVE this project – a mix of clean and simple with grunge!

What a fun die set to add that grunge look to your projects!
With the Mixed Media Dies you are using the negative space left over, not the positive which is cut out, as there are no cutting blades along the perimeter of these dies.
