Masculine Java Birthday – by Deb Felts

Good morning to all! Deb has a fun masculine card today and as is so often the case with Deb’s cards, there is a story behind it. This card was made for a gentleman who grew up in Puerto Rico with roots to a family coffee farm. The designer paper sheet she chose reminded her of men’s fancy silk pajamas, so she ran with that theme and added what resembles a monogrammed pocket, collar and button placket down the card front.
Understanding the thought process behind the project makes it so much more special!
I can just see that pajama top that Deb has created.
I LOVE the monogrammed sentiment combination on the pocket, pulling sentintments from both our A Cup of Java and Coffee or Tea stamp sets.
The lovely paper is from the Blossom pad by Graphic 45.
Deb used small buttons from her stash, but one could easily make a similiar button with a pearl and tiny round paper punched or die cut circle.
And I LOVE the formality of this card, just as a pair of men’s silk pajamas would be considered more formal.
And here’s the inside – another treat in and of itself!
The die cut mug and ‘rise and shine’ sentiment are from our A Cup of Java sets.
The ‘another year older’ sentiment is from our set called Birthday Sentiments.
‘Happy Birthday’ is from our set called Birthday Blessings.
