A Quilted Easter – by Esther Asbury
This quilted card by Esther is wonderfully fresh and full of the new life reflective of both Easter and spring. Esther used some of the floral stem dies by Tim Holtz for the focal image and created a fun quilted patchwork background in soft pastels for them to rest upon. A simple Easter greeting finishes if off nicely.
I love the springy fresh feel to this card – perfect for the Easter/spring season.
The florals are cut with Wildflower Stems #2 by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).
They were cut from mixed media paper and inked with distress inks.
The sentiment is from Easter by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.
It is cut with Fishtail Sentiment Banners by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.
Esther stamped the sentiment with VersaFine black ink.
That lovely printed paper is from My Favorite Spring by Echo Park.
Baker’s Twine was added as a fun accent on the stems.
And here’s how Esther created that lovely quilted background:
“To create the background I cut a piece of designer paper (from My Favorite Spring Paper Pad) into strips of varying sizes and assembled them on a piece of white card stock. Once I had completed my “quilt pattern” I trimmed the paper to size and dry embossed it to add dimension and texture.”
