When it comes to creativity, Deb is never lacking. Today’s project is a perfect example. She created 2 cards, each featuring men’s jackets with an American Eagle decal on them as the focal point. I can’t tell you the large number of men these cards would appeal to. They are patriotic, rugged and manly, all while conveying a heartfelt message for Dad on Father’s Day (or any day for that matter with a change of sentiment).

These cards are large. The card that opens is 5.5″ square.

The base layer to create the framing around it is a 7.5″ square.

These serve as not only cards but also as decor pieces to go along with a patriotic or military display. Actually, they would work well for Harley riders, too!!!

Deb considered cutting these down to just the 5.5″ square size, meaning she would have to cut off portions of the sleeves. The decision was made to keep the jacket complete and add a border. But the option to trim off the sleeves to keep it at a 5.5″ square is another viable option.

The eagle is from The American Eagle by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The sentiment is from Typewritten Year Round Greetings by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The sentiment is cut with Fishtail Sentiment Banners by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The patriotic designer paper is from Let Freedom Ring by Echo Park.

The diamond plate paper is from Metal Textures by Craft Consortium.

And here’s the inside.

The small silver engraved plate is cut using Postale by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).

I (heart) you stamped on it is from Stick Family Sentiments by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The sentiment beneath is from Typewritten What You Mean to Me by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

This is the 2nd card using the same supplies as listed above, but using a different paper pad.

The designer paper on this card is from Brick Textures by Craft Consortium.

And here’s the inside, again using the same stamp sets as mentioned and linked in the previous card.

And this is the template Deb used to create her jacket.

This was a hand sketch she did herself, cutting apart the pieces and tracing/cutting them from the cardstock and then applying the die cut eagle once the jacket was put together.

Deb used a textured cardstock for the tan leather jacket, using a piercing tool to create the stitch holes.

The black suede jacket was made by dampening and crumpling up a thin black cardstock.
