Today we are sharing a lovely and rich fall card from Deb Felts. She used a card design that allows the card to stand upright on its own. The card does not open (you could write on the back), but is perfect for a display piece, and this one is just lovely for this autumn season. The focal image leaf, sentiment and designer paper work together to absolute perfection on this card.

I don’t have a tutorial link or measurements for score lines on this project, but I do think this is a relatively easy card to just ‘wing it’, which we’ll do togethering a but further down.

The oak leaf and acorn are from Give Thanks by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The sentiments are both from Falling Leaves Border Strip by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The tag is cut with Tag Collection by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).

That stunning background paper is from Retro Summer by Craft Consortium.

Deb stamped with Memento ink, colored with Copics and added some Burlap String and Kaisercraft Rhinestones.

This photos shows a good view of the “box” created at the bottom of the card, allowing it to stand up, assuming your cardstock is heavy enough.

The card folds flat and fits into a standard A2 sized envelope, being A2 in size when folded flat.

Here is the view of it folded flat.

Again, sorry for no exact scoring instructions but to me it looks like Deb started with a 1/2 sheet of cardstock that had been cut the long way, giving her a 4.25 x 11 piece, then scored in 1/2 to get the standard 4.25 x 5.5″ card.

Putting the card in front of you “upside down” so to speak, pull out the top flat and score 3 lines to create the box. Adhere into the box shape and you’ll see how it will then stand and/or fold flat on the score lines to fit into the envelope.

Again, sorry this is not exact, but it gives you an idea to play with.
