Candlelit Christmas Card – by Deb Felts

Today’s card is lit by a candle – a battery operated candle. Talk about an ingenious gift. It’s not only a card but a piece of mini home decor as well. This is the lovely card front and you can see the battery operated candle off to the side.

Deb’s ornament feature in the upper corner reminds me of a trimmed tree branch – so pretty!

The ornament is from Christmas Joy by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The greenery is cut using Holiday Greens Mini by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).

The beads added to the greenery are from our May Arts Vintage Sampler – On Fire with Orange & Yellow.

The seam binding is from our Seam Binding Sampler – Christmas.

The die cut Joy is from the Peace & Joy Word Dies by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The beautiful designer paper is from Tartan Plaid by Craft Consortium.

Here’s a closer look at that lovely ornament feature in the corner.

Open the card, stand it up, insert the candle and here you have it! AMAZING!

The candle and sentiment are from Christmas Peace by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The lattice work is cut with Mixed Media #1 by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).

It is sandwiched between circles cut with Spellbinders Standard Circles.

For this project Deb stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Copic markers and accented with Delicata Celestial Copper ink

Deb accented with Kaisercraft Pearls.

And this side view shows you the candle placed inside.

And here are some notes from Deb in her own words to help with construction:

“I added a side view so the card construction is more visible. It’s just a 4.25 x 11 piece of card stock scored at 5.5 and 1.5 inches. Another 4.25 x 7 piece, also scored at 5.5 and 1.5 is adhered to form the special fold. Any die-cutting on this piece must happen before adhering the fold.”

What an absolutely ingenious card!
