Stamp Simply #164 – Tags are Fun!
Tags are Fun! — Who doesn’t like to make a tag or two! Tags are small canvases to decorate that we pass on with a gift or use to embellish a card or other project. Today we are making tags — could be Christmas tags or ANY tag you might need for any occasion — whether it be a tag to hang on a bag handle or gift or an adornment for a card or other project, let’s just have some fun today making tags!!!
Anyone is welcome and invited to play! SCS Keyword is ssnotime164 for those who upload at SCS. There is no time limit. You can play this challenge anytime at all. The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!!

And here’s my simple tag trio for today:
3 tags — about 10 minutes total – no stamping
All product links are at the end of this post.
My tags are 6″ high and 3″ wide, all cut from one sheet of 12 x 12″ paper from the Glad Tidings Pad by K & Company. I also used the Grand Adhesions Stickers to coordinate and 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon. All items used on these tags are included in the Stamp Simply K & Co. Glad Tidings Kit.
Cutting tags to this size from a 12 x 12, you can get either 6 or 8 per sheet, depending on the pattern on the sheet and how you intend to cut into it. I clipped my corners on my paper cutter. I use a guillotine type cutter and put marks with a sharpie on the gridded surface so I know how to lay my tag on the bed to get the exact corner cut each time – super quick if you don’t mind putting marks on your cutter bed.
These tags are just the one layer thick — this paper is of a decent weight and it works well for tags. I like to use brown paper handled bags for Christmas gifts, and the colors and patterns in this pad go especially well with my paper bags.
The reverse of this sheet is fairly large polka dots. I used a 3/4″ punch and punched out 3 polka dots, ran them through my Xyron X and adhered to the tag top, then punched the hole with a standard hand held hole punch. I ran my 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon through the holes and called it done. I left the surface fairly blank to allow room to write the names, etc.
I do really like these tags. They are practical and quick to make, yet lend a bit of that *hand made* look to your gift presentation.
