Newborn Baby Boy

Published by

Today we enjoyed a traditional turkey dinner with my side of the family at a local restaurant (oh, SO easy!) and tomorrow we will be spending time with Steve’s side of the family where we will get the chance to see for the first time our latest brand new great-nephew.  I made this card for him:

It’s another no stamp card made from Kaisercraft’s Lullaby pad.  With the cutouts offered in this pad it is SO easy to throw a card together quickly, as I did here.  And I’ve said it before and I just have to say it again – this is my all time FAVORITE baby pad because the prints are SO grown up and beautiful, but they fit the baby theme just perfectly!  Well done, Kaisercraft — VERY well done!  Suits me to a T!!!  And I love the 6.5″ size allowing me to completely cover this size card.

This card is a bit larger at 6.5″ x 4.75″.  I make them this size so they fit perfectly into an A6 Clear Box, both for protection and for impressive gift presentation.  The box is just perfectly wide enough at 5/8″ to fit my larger bows and elevated panels.  These boxes (available in 3 sizes) make it SO easy to give cards with more bulk.  They are also perfectly mailable and come with round clear seals for the ends.

Ribbon by May Arts:  5/8″ Pleated Satin in White; 1″ Stitched Satin in Blue

Spellbinders Die:  Lacey Squares

Bow was made with the original Bow Easy.

I have created a pocket on the inside for cash, check or gift card.  It’s just another piece of the designer paper adhered with Scor Tape on the 2 sides and bottom, creating a handy pocket.  You can also see in this photo how I’ve wrapped the ribbon around the card front – Scor Tape makes this super easy and it never slips out of place.

And here’s the card in it’s own A6 Clear Box, ready to give.

Again, once I’m showing you a baby card from this pad, let me take the liberty of showing you a few other baby cards made from this same pad — it’ll show you a few more sheets in the pad.  The cards all bear great similarity — my apologies — but it works for me — all quick and easy!

May Arts Ribbon:  1.5″ Pleated Satin, 5/8″ Crochet Lace, 1/8″ Silk, 1.5″ Silky Crushed

May Arts Ribbon:  1″ Stitched Satin, Melissa Frances Lace, 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon

May Arts Ribbon:  1.5″ Pleated Satin, 3/8″ Striped Grosgrain, 1″ Stitched Satin

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.

A Baby Girl Card

Published by

Today I have a no-stamp baby girl card to share.   I keep relying on Kaisercraft’s Lullaby Collection pad for my baby cards of late.  LOVE the little focal/sentiment images included in the pad, making the process quick and easy.

This card is 5.5″ square, fitting perfectly into my 5.5″ Square Clear Boxes.

I’m totally smitten with this baby pad – Lullaby Collection by Kaisercraft.  It is a 6.5″ square pad with lovely grown-up prints in baby colors of pink and blue — SO pretty!!!  And as with all the Kaisercraft pads, it has many sheets that are *special* — flocked, embossed, varnished, etc. — as well as many sheets of punchouts.

This focal image was cut from a sheet in the pad and is backed with a die cut Lacey Squares by Spellbinders.

Kaisercraft Rhinestones in Light Pink accent the image, and it is popped up using 3D Foam Squares.

All ribbons used are by May Arts – 1.5″ Satin Pleats in White, 5/8″ Crochet Lace in White and 1.5″ Silky Crushed Ribbon in Pink.  Note that the pink ribbon is 1.5″ wide and to get the narrow strip to run through the lace, I just cut about a 1/4″ width from a length of the 1.5″ ribbon — worked great!!!  Divine Twine Baker’s Twine in Cotton Candy (pink) was used through the button holes — the button was from my stash.  Scor tape was used to adhere the layers of ribbon.  The Bow Easy was used to make the bow.

As soon as I’m finished making my cards, I always pop them into a Clear Box.  The Clear Boxes offer total protection for my dimensional cards, make a great impact when given and also work well for mailing dimensional cards.  They come with clear round seals to securely close the ends.  The Clear Box used for this card is 5.5″ Square.

All items used on today’s project are available at The Stamp  Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.

Baby Shower Card

Published by

Girl or boy — pink or blue?  No one knows (now isn’t that nice for a change!), so rather than going with the gender neutral greens or yellows, I chose to do a card that is both pink and blue.  Here it is:

The paper I used is a  yummy baby pad with GORGEOUS prints –  6.5 x 6.5″ Lullaby Collection by Kaisercraft.  As with all Kaisercraft pads, it has many pages of punchouts, but my BABY focal image was cut from a sheet in the pad (tons of pretty squares to cut out in this pad).  It also includes gorgeous damask flocked sheets and some others that are foiled and spot varnished.  Pretty paper!

This is a quick layout for a card in a rush — all straight cuts at the paper cutter.  I seem to be doing that a lot lately.

Here’s a closer look at the ribbon detail.  Ribbons used are 1″ Stitched Satin (blue), Kaisercraft Lace Card (white), 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon (white) and a button from my jar.  The larger blue bow was made on the Bow Easy.  The ribbon for the small white bow is run through the button holes and hand tied.

The card is my FAV new size- 6.5 x 4.75″ inches, made to fit perfectly inside the A6 Clear Box I will present it in — here it is, all set to be put into the gift bag with the gifts.

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, linked above.

For Mom on Mother’s Day – by Sharon Johnson

Published by

My 8 month old grandson asked me to make a card for him to give to his Mom on Mother’s Day. So, of course, I said YES! He wanted it to be baby blue and with a rocking horse.  That was easy. I used my all time favorite baby paper pad and a fun die. Take a look:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

That paper is flocked and it feels so nice and cozy, just like a baby!

This card is 6.5 x 4.75″ and fits perfectly into an A6 Clear Box.

This is a great card design for a baby gift, a baby shower, a baby thank you and even a baby shower invite!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And here’s the card inside.

Plenty of room for a hand-written personalized message (with Dad’s help)!

I used:

Paper: Lullaby by Kaisercraft

Paper: White Cardstock, Colored Cardstock

Stamps: All in the Family Large Sentiments by JustRite (unavailable)

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black

Die: Spellbinders Circle Nesties, Square Nesties

Marianne Design Rocking Horse

Ribbon: May Arts 3/8″ Double Faced Satin – White

Embellishments: Kaisercraft Rhinestones – Ice Blue

Kaisercraft Pearls – White

Adhesives: Scor Tape, 3D Foam Squares

Lullaby PP841

This graphic does NOT do this gorgeous paper justice.

Look back up at my card to get a good feel of what this paper is truly like!

Special Delivery – a JustRite Blog Hop

Published by

Today I am playing with the designers over at JustRite and hopping with them to showcase a stamp set that is truly a dream come true for me.  It is a baby set designed by Amy Tedder with a distinctively vintage feel, incorporating several verses of Scripture that are just perfect for all those baby occasions.  And I am especially happy to see that sentiments have been included for the adopted baby as well as for baptism.  And the vintage images included are beyond GORGEOUS!!!  Well done, Amy!!!

I made a pocket type card to tuck in all the little index card notes I made for the inside.  I have a lot of photos to follow to show you.

Stamps:  Special Delivery by JustRite Stampers (an absolutely perfect baby set!)

Paper:  Lullaby by Kaisercraft (my all time favorite baby pad – LOVE the sheets included)

The rattle was white embossed onto blue cardstock and hand cut.

Spellbinders Dies:  Long Classic Rectangles, Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles, Circle Nesties/Petite Scallop

I used a paper piercer to pierce each scallop.

Ink, etc:  VersaMark Ink, Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder – White, Heat Gun, VersaFine Onyx Black (inside)

Ribbon:  May Arts 1.25″ Silk – White; Bow made on the Original Bow Easy; Satin Flower with Pearl Center – White; 3/8″ Crochet Lace Trim – White

Miscellaneous:  Kaisercraft Pearls – Snow, 3D Foam Squares, Scor Tape

Here’s the card open with the verses of Scripture tucked inside.

I like to use Velcro Dots for closures — they are inexpensive and they work all the time!

Here’s a look at the little Scripture index cards.  They are dressed up with a little lace and pearls.

Applying narrow lace or ribbon with 1/8″ Scor Tape is super quick and easy.

Die:  Spellbinders Address Book

And once done, my card is kept safe and ready for gifting in its very own A6 Clear Box.

This card is larger at 6.5 x 4.75, made to fit perfectly inside the A6 Clear Box.

Special Delivery

This is the set I used today — totally LOVE this set!  It covers all the bases!!!

Gift Bagged Birthday – by Deb Saaranen

Published by

Today Deb has created a totally FUN card and gift bag for a birthday using one of the NEW Prima Collections and the popular theme of banners.  This will certainly put a smile on the face of the lucky recipient.  And to make it even easier for you to both shop and create, the STAMP and DIE sets used today have been bundled together for you at a SPECIAL PRICE!  And further down I’ll have a few new things to show you, too!

LOVE this happy duo created with these FUN prints and spring-like colors!

You can see the full post on Deb’s blog with more photos here.

Deb used:

Paper:  Prima Hello Pastel Collection (paper availalbe in 6×6 and A4)

Wood Clothespin:  Prima Wood Clips – Hello Pastel

Stamps:  JustRite Buntings and Banners, a clear stamp set

Dies:  JustRite/Spellbinders co-branded die set -  Buntings and Buttons

RhinestonesMelissa Frances

Ribbon:  May Art’s Burlap String (available by individual color, sampler or full spool)

Ink:  Versafine Black Onyx

Hello Pastel – 6×6 shown – This paper is also available in A4 (a bit larger than 8 x 11)

Hello Pastel Wood Clips

This is the pack of clothespins Deb used today.  Looks like she used the smaller, turquoise colored one on her bag and the multi-colored chevron one on her card.

Aren’t these fun!  ALL Prima Wood Clips can be seen here.

Hello Pastel Seam Binding Sampler

Deb didn’t use ribbon on her project today, but just wanted to show you this Seam Binding Sampler made to coordinate with this paper pad.

Buntings and Banners

Available in 2 widths and 2 colors – black and blue.

May Arts 5/8″ Woven Wired Chevron Stripes

Currently in stock in 9 colors.  FUN ribbon!

And have you seen the darling baby ribbons?

May Arts Satin Cutout Ribbon Baby Boy AND Baby Girl in stock

May Arts Satin RibbonIt’s a Boy OR It’s a GIRL

This ribbon is available in two widths.

Check out the BABY CATEGORY to see all baby-specific ribbon and other items.

And once we’re talking baby, have you checked out the NEW Kaisercraft Baby Collection?  It’s GORGEOUS!

Bundle of Joy Collection by Kaisercaft

In stock are the 6×6 shown, 12 x 12’s that are specific to either boy or girl, some die cuts and stamps.

This is a gorgeous collection!

I do want to point out, this vintage-themed collection is NOT the typical baby pink and blue, so your standard pink and blue ribbons really won’t match this collection.  I will pull some seam binding ribbon colors to match this pad and list them in the product description in the store — they aren’t there yet, but they will be shortly — sorry, just got ahead of myself here.

BACK TO EDIT – Sorry it took me so long to get back to this!

The standard baby pink, white and ivory satins DO match this pad.

The standard baby blues in all ribbon DO NOT match this pad at all.

Seam Binding matches to this pad are:  Baby Pink, Rose Petal, Soft Seafoam, White, Ivory, Smoke Gray

This Kaisercraft baby pad – Lullaby – is the standard baby pink and baby blue.  I have used this pad SO much.  It will probably be my all time favorite baby pad ever.

This link will show you many different card samples using the Lullaby pad shown above.

All items available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked.

Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style – Wrinkled/Crushed

Published by

It’s Saturday and time for some Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style.  Today we are focusing on both Wrinkled and Crushed Ribbon, and I’ll get right to it:

Today I made a trio of very CAS, quick and easy cards where a Holiday Silhouette by Webster’s Pages takes center stage, but the ribbon and bows are in close competition!  Though these cards are clean and simple to make, they are not suitable for mailing in a paper envelope.  They’ll need to be put into an A2 Clear Box,which makes a SUPER presentation.

For these 3 cards, the ribbon is wrapped around the card font, secured a bit with Scor Tape so it won’t slip, and the bows are tied by hand.

This card uses the Dark Wreath Silhouette — and I’m linking all the Silhouettes generically for you as each Silhouette is available in a pack of 6 of the same kind OR in a variety pack.  All cardstock used is SU Very Vanilla, and on this one I’ve also used SU Chocolate Chip.  The brown ribbon is 1.5″ Silky Crushed Ribbon.  I am so pleased to have a good dark brown ribbon on hand that looks this luxurious.

This card uses the Gold Candle Silhouette and 1.5″ Silky Crushed Ribbon in Gold.  When comparing to the next card, you’ll see that the Silky Crushed Ribbon is a bit lighter and fluffier than the Wrinkled Ribbon shown next.  I didn’t have cardstock in the right color, so that bottom mat layer on this is cut from a piece of paper in the 6×6 pad from My Mind’s Eye called Sunshine.

Our last one uses the Red Candycane Silhouette and Real Red cardstock by SU. On this card I used the 1.5″ Wrinkled Ribbon in red.  The red on this ribbon just matched the red on the candycane a bit better than the red in the Silky Crushed ribbon did, plus it gives you a chance to compare the two ribbons.  This ribbon is a bit stiffer and the bow will lay flatter on your card than the ribbon used on the two cards above.  They are both great ribbons for large bows, just a little different look.  The Wrinkled Ribbon also comes in 1/2″ size.

Just talking a little about ribbon, I think many of you who stop here often know that my true love of all ribbon is the 100% Silk by May Arts — truly, there is nothing that can quite compare — but if I had to pick a 2nd, it would most definitely be the 1.5″ Silky Crushed Ribbon shown on the top two cards above.  It has such a rich, pretty and vintage look that I love at a very affordable price. It is only available in this one width, but if you want a piece not quite so wide, this ribbon cuts lengthwise just beautifully — so you can make yourself a ribbon in any width you like!  It just adds to that vintage look.

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.

Now I’ll just share a few older pictures where I’ve used these ribbons so you can see more of the colors.

Rose Silky CrushedGabrielle by Bo Bunny pad read more here.

Burgundy Silky Crushed and Burgundy 1/2″ WrinkledReflections pad by Prima Stamps by JustRite (Greetings from Paris) - read more here.

On this swag I used Silky Crushed Wired ribbon, which is perfect for home decor projects or gift wrapping where you want to shape and hold large bows.  I have it doubled up with 6″ Bridal Tulle.  We used this exact Pink Silky Crushed Wired Ribbon and Pink Bridal Tulle to make the pew bows for Steve and Marissa’s wedding, using the Bigger Bow Easy. The Bigger Bow Easy was also used to make the bow on this swag — just leave super long ribbon tails that you then turn and twine to suit your fancy.

Today’s Blog  Candy is 1 yard each of the full range of 1.5″ Silky Crushed Ribbon by May Arts.  All colors are shown above, so that is a total of 21 yards of this lush ribbon! (Navy is not shown in the photo, but is available)

This is a Mystery Blog Candy, meaning the winner will be drawn from comments on one of today’s participating blogs, so leaving a comment on each blog will greatly increase your chances of winning, but only one comment per blog, please.  The winner will be selected at 6 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, October 25 and will be posted here on my blog on Wednesday, so please check back to claim your prize if you are the lucky winner!  Good luck!
