Esther likes to play the challenges all around the internet and she created today’s gorgeous partriotic card for one of her favorite challanges, and we are loving the card! It is patriotic with a wonderfully vintage feel which I always think works so well with patriotic styles. A bit of scissor distressing and inked edges do the trick!

Loving the traditional patriotic red and blue with the more ivory color rather than a pure white – perfect when a vintage vibe is what you are going for.

The flag is from The Red, White and Blue by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The sentiment is from The American Eagle by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The background was created with the Vintage Seed Packet by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps and the window opening was cut with the companion die set.

Esther stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, coloring with Arteza Real Brush Pens.

Here’s a bit of how-to in Esther’s own words:

“The seed packet was stamped on coffee dyed paper. I used scissors to distress the edges and inked around them with vintage photo distress ink. The flag was stamped on mixed media paper and colored with Arteza Real Brush Pens. I also inked around it’s edges to give it a vintage feel.”

Memorial Day, being a holiday to be remembered and honored, marks the unofficial beginning of summer, while the 4th of July is a huge birthday celebration all throughout the USA. Both events are filled with family gatherings and picnics, picnics, picnics everywhere! With that in mind, Deb created this lovely, very impressive, yet easy to throw together idea for some fun summer/patriotic table decor. I think you’ll love this! And remember, our Mother’s Day Sale is going on – details further down.

This started with placemats in a fun Americana/baseball theme.

Deb picked up the small tin bucket at the Target Dollar Spot. It’s about 4.5″ tall.

She created a gorgeous hanging tag for the 4th of July and filled the bucket with bandanas to be used as napkins – I LOVE that idea!!!

And here’s a closer look at that fun tag.

All the layers were cut using Spellbinders Standard Circle Dies.

The fun printed papers used are from Let Freedom Ring by Echo Park.

All the gold paper used is Luxury Pearlescent Metallic 105# Cardstock in Gold.

The star was stamped and cut using The American Eagle by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

The large 4 was cut with the Countdown dies by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).

The small tag was cut using Tag Collection by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).

Deb used some small, older click togther alphabet stamps to spell July.

Deb accented with narrow red ribbon and metallic cord.

Narrow red ribbon options would be Silk, Gingham Check, Chevron Twill – all 50% OFF!

What a wonderfully nostaligic card we have today from Esther. It is perfect as a Mother’s Day card but also perfect for any time of year. Good early morning. Another new week which has the promise of a bit nicer weather for us northerners! And that is much to be thankful for. Karen is sharing a wonderful thinking of you card today showcasing our Pretty Poppies stamp and die set. A thinking of you card has got to be one of the most versatile type of cards, suitable for just about any time, as who doesn’t appreciate being thought of, whether times are tough or perfectly wonderful!

The fishtail pieces were cut with Fishtail Sentiment Banners by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.
