Stamp Simply Vintage Valentine Kit

Published by

Today I have a Vintage Valentine Kit to show you that I put together using a product I have long loved — Cotton Scraps by Crafty Secrets.  Unfortunately, these Cotton Scraps are no longer being manufactured, so when they are gone, they’re gone.  They were a produt that I’ve used over and over and over again over the years and how I wish they were still available.  My supply is limted, and once sold out there will be no more of this kit.

First let me show you a card I made this morning using the Vintage Valentine Kit contents:

This card is 6.5″ x 4.75″, made that size so it fits perfectly into an A6 Clear Box.  This card has a fair bit of dimension, so inserting it into the Clear Box protects it, makes a wonderful presentation and is also mailable.  There is just something about giving someone a card in a Clear Box.  They  just love it and it always evokes a lot of WOW’s!

All designer paper used is from the Blush 6×6 pad by My Minds Eye.

All coordinates to the Blush pad can be seen here.

MME makes a lot of pads great for vintage themes and they can all be seen here.

My Cotton Scrap image was cut with pinking shears and it’s hard to see, but it is layered catty-wampus style onto 2 other sheets of designer paper.

The bow is of the 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon, adorned with Fairytale Roses.

The bow was made on the Original Bow Easy.

When I made my bow, I left long tails and then just twined them around until they looked right, adhering in inconspicuous spots with glue dots.

3D Foam Squares were used for elevation.

The valentine sentiment is included in the Happy Everything Tag Making Kit by JustRite (currently on sale).  It’s an all-inclusive kit with a large variety of sentiments, the clear stampers and dies.  It’s one of those sets I use over and over.  The other Mini Sentiments made to coordinate can be seen here.

My sentiment was stamped onto a 1/2″ strip of paper and the ends were hand cut with scissors.

Versa Fine Onyx Black Ink was used.

These are the Sheer Rosettes — love the fun vintage/glamorous touch they add.  They are adhered with Scor Tape and there is a strip of 5/8″ Crochet Lace peeking out of the top.

Stamp Simply Vintage Valentine Kit

This Vintage Valentine Kit contains:

1 Romance Cotton Scrap by Crafty Secrets (8 1/2″ x 11″)

1/2 yard Sheer Rosettes by May Arts (Burgundy)

2 yards 1.25″ Silk Ribbon by May Arts (Burgundy)

5 yards 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon by May Arts (Burgundy)

2 yards 5/8 Crochet Lace by May Arts (Ivory)

1 package Fairytale Roses by Prima (French White)

1 package Rhinestones by Kaisercraft (Lippy Red)

Kaisercraft After Five Collection Trio

Published by

Today I have another no stamp trio of cards made quick and easy with products by Kaisercraft from their After Five Collection that I’ve put together into a Stamp Simply Kit for your crafting ease.  And that’s just what this trio was — easy, peasy as they say!

Three quick cards using pre-scored cards from 2 separate pads in the After Five Collection — Bracket Design and Scallop Design.  Both of these pads are included in the Stamp Simply Kaisercraft After Five Kit.  There are 20 cards per pad, for a total of 40 pre-scored cards in A2 size.  I think Brittany and I are going to use these pads to make her graduation thank you notes!  Gotta keep it easy when you need to mass produce.

This card is from the  Scallop Design Pad.  The 1.5″ strip was cut from the After Five 6×6 Pad.  The Celebration Tag was one of the punch-outs in the back of that pad and my pretty flower is from Prima’s Delightful Day Collection – Dimmet.  These are such pretty little fabric flowers that come in a lovely range of colors.  I used 1″ Sheer White Ribbon that is also included in the KIT.

Just a closer look at the detail and Prima flower.

This is a sheet from the Bracket Design Pad.  This time I used a tag from the Journal Tags Pad and topped it with a small circle sentiment included in the 6×6 Pad, adorned with a Black Kaiser Pearl and White Sheer Ribbon, both included in the KIT.

Love the Journal Tags — fun to play with!

This is the last card, made in a similar fashion.  Again, the sentiment is from the back of the 6×6 Pad and I used another of the Prima Flowers from the Delightful Day Collection – Dimmet.  These flowers have beautiful pearl/beaded centers.

Love this particular tag — using tags and punchouts makes paper crafting SO fun and easy!

All bows were made on the Original Bow Easy.

Stamp Simply Kaisercraft After Five Kit

All items used to create today’s card trio are included in the KIT shown above, with the exception of the Prima flowers — they would have to be ordered separately — the Delightful Day Collection of Prima flowers can be seen here.

All Stamp Simply KITS can be seen here.

And that’s it for today’s project.

All items are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, linked above.

Thanks so much for stopping in!  I so appreciate that you do!!!

On a personal note, it’s been busy!  Steve is trying to get the fields planted but has been set back with all the heavy nightime rains we’ve had (causing wide-spread power and internet outages) and the boys are super busy gearing up for all their summer work, waiting for road restrictions to be lifted.  My Dad is doing well and he and my Mom were even able to dine out with us on Mother’s Day.  Spring is trying to come, but is a bit slow here yet, but yesterday we got the front outside porch all cleaned up for summer enjoyment — now to fill it with flowers — but it’s still a bit too early here yet for outside pots — but soon!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful, spring day!!!

Published by

Lots to share!  Gorgeous new stamps by LaBlanche, three new KITS, and a sale on some paper pads and JustRite stamps to make room for all the new items on order.  I have a lot to show and share, so I’ll try to keep the verbiage to a minimum.

Deb and I gave the new LaBlanche stamps a test run a week or so ago.  I’ve had them for a bit, but I never like to offer items unless I have personally tried them out to make sure they *work*.  Well, oh, do they *work*!  LOVE them!!!!  I have 6 stamp designs in stock now, with more coming over the next couple weeks.  These are very detailed and beautiful silicone stamps mounted on white foam and very attractively packaged. It was love at first sight! Here’s what I currently have available:

EDITING TO ADD:

__________

This is a card I made using Tulip Script above.

I used new papers by K & Company, Spring Blossom I have this pad and coordinates available in KIT form.  The die cut in the upper corner is from Flourish Accents by Spellbinders, in stock.

A closer look at my Celery Silk Bow, made on the smallest legs of the BIGGER Bow Easy.  I typically use the Original Bow Easy for cards, but on occasion I like this size bow, just a bit larger.

This card was made to fit perfectly inside an A6 Clear Box. All links at end of post.  The card measures 4.75″ x 6.5″ and is shown above in the Clear Box.  I use these boxes to store cards for protection as well as to present/mail them.  They are 5/8″ thick and thereby accomodate bulkier cards or sets of thinner cards.

Simple, classic, black and white Bird Cage Gift Set.

This simple style is still a favorite of mine.  This is a set of 4 notecards and envelopes encased in an A2 Clear Box with a simple 1″ Grosgrain w/Satin Edge black ribbon tied around it.  Simply stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink for a crisp, clear image.

And here’s a little preview of another card using Bird Cage that Deb made.

Quick Baby Gift & New Baby Kit!

Published by

I have two baby-themed items to show you today.  First is a quick gift I made for a new baby by just gussying up a store bought set of Johnson’s bath/body products for baby that I picked up at Wal-Mart.  Take a look at what I bought:

lotion-before-440-384.jpg

Bedtime bath/body products in a cute, fuzzy container, complete with the children’s classic, Goodnight Moon.  I just needed a little something to drop off for a family who just had their 2nd girl, and this caught my eye, especially knowing I could dress it up in true little girl fashion!  As I was contemplating my purchase, I instantly knew that I would dress it up with yellow gingham, so I felt I wanted a little yellow in the gift basket, that’s why I purchased the single container — moreseo because it was yellow than for what it was — LOL!!!  I was able to squeeze it in the middle and it worked perfectly!!!  Here’s the finished baby gift basket after I dressed it all up:

lotion-set-full-383-480-wm.jpg

Not too much work at all, but a big improvement over the original, and TOTALLY FUN to do!!!  I made my hang tag by cutting a sheet of SU Yellow (can’t think of the proper name at the moment, but it’ll come…) 3″ x 7.5″, scored 2.5″ from the top, punched a hole with a 1.5″ punch and used a SU Corner Rounder to round the top corners.

lotion-tag-310-500-wm.jpg

Here’s a closer view.  The DP used is Lilac Avenue by Kaiser.  The smaller tag with the leafy stem was a punchout in the Lilac Avenue Pad.  Each pad has several pages of tags and borders you can punch out — makes this quick and fun!  My Cutie Pie sentiment was from Tiny Words by JustRite, used on the 1 3/16″ Stamper.  I’ve been having fun playing with this small size of late — more on this issue at the end of the post.  The sentiment was cut and embossed using my Petite Circle Nesties (4 pack) by Spellbinders.  A little ribbon to top it off and we’re done!  5/8″ Dotted Sheer is used on top and 1″ Ric Rac is used on the bottom.

lotion-set-ribbon-detail-480-332.jpg

Just wanted to explain what I did with the ribbon.  I took a length of 1.5″ Gingham Ribbon, ran a line of tape down the center with my Glue Glider, then just layed the 1″ Ric Rac on top of it, pressing down as I went.  I liked the result, especially for baby!  It was too bulky to make a nice bow, so I just knotted it and then made a bow with the plain gingham, using the BIGGER BOW EASY.  This is a double bow (meaning I wrapped the ribbon around twice), in the 5″ size on the BIGGER BOW EASY.  To get it to stay on I used a T-pin to stick it into the fuzzy base.

lotion-set-side-ribbon-320-251.jpg

The ribbon wraps all the way around the basket.  Looks so pretty!!!  I see my fuzzy liner is twisted on top — I straightened it out.  WHY do I never see these things until AFTER the picture is taken????

And that does it for this quick little baby gift!  I had fun making it — hope the new MOM enjoys it, too!!!

I have most items to make this gift set available in The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  What I wanted to point out is the Tiny Words set is a favorite of mine.  I use it a ton when I make the cards with the Journal Notes or Cotton Scraps.  Its small size seems to fit those images well.  Take a look at them:

 tiny-words-set-1-316.jpg

Anyway, what I’m getting at is that I have the 1 3/16″ Damask Monogram set on sale for the month of April for 20% off.  It was $22.50 and and it is now $18.00.  If you are at all inclined to try these fun, small sets, the Monogram Set on sale comes with all you need to make monograms, including the stamper, so then you’d be all set to add on the Tiny Words set!  Just a thought! (Please note:  Many of my JR stamps are still at the pre-price increase prices.  When JR raised their prices on 2/15, I did not.  As long as I have stock, I will stick with the old prices.  But as I have to re-stock supply, my prices will then increase as well).

______________________________

Editing — OOPS, Sorry:  People are getting confused.  I do have TWO Damask Monogram Sets available and both are on sale.  The one I referred above is the smaller set in the 1 3/16″ size.  Here’s a picture of it:

1-3-16-damask-set-lg-jr-graphic-310-184.jpg

1 3/16″ Damask Monogram Kit ($22.50)Sale Priced $18.00 (April –  while supplies last)

It contains the 1 3/16″ Wood Stamper, 3 Damask Borders and 1 set of 60 pt. Font in Times New Roman.  It comes in the clear clam shell packaging.  The stamper included will accept all 1 3/16″ Centers and Borders, such as I used today on the baby ensemble.

Then I have the original Damask Monogram Kit in 1 5/8″ Size and this one comes in the original box packaging.  Here it is:

damask-kit-360.jpg

1 5/8″ Damask Monogram Kit ($19.95)Sale Priced $15.00

This is the original Damask Monogram Kit and it contains the same elements as the smaller set, only in the 1 5/8″ size.  The stamper with this Kit accepts all 1 5/8″ stamps and borders.  I just checked the JustRite site and I’m not finding this kit any more.  I’m presuming it is sold out/retired????  I have a dozen or so left.  These Damask Monogram Kits have been my go-to sets for Monograms for years and I love them as much today as I did from Day 1.

Hope this helps to clarify it!

Stamp Simply #109 – Gatefolds

Published by

Gatefolds  — Today’s challenge deals with how we fold our card — we are going to do Gatefold cards today.  Fun for a change!  Gatefolds are cards that fold in from each side, meeting in the middle, so it opens like a gate.  The folds don’t have to be symmetrical, your opening can be off center if you like.  Check out all the DT samples for some great ideas with this fun fold!!!

Keyword ssnotime109 – There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload your project at Splitcoast and/or your Blog, anytime at all. You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!) can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.

Check out the great samples for the Stamp Simply Challenge today on the blogs of these fabulous designers:

Please bear with us all as we each upload and link on Thursday night.  Everyone should be up and set by Friday morning.

You may see all SCS Gallery Submissions here.

And here’s my Gatefold creation for today:

109-full-360w-wm-notime.jpg

A Christmas card simply made using a Winter Cotton Scrap, a Vintage Envelope Sentiment from Flower Soft, 100% Silk Ribbon (Burgundy), a die cut corner and pretty SU paper, Autumn Traditions  (a fall pack, but I love a few of the prints in it for Christmas).  My gatefold opening is off center and you can scroll down to get measurements for cutting and scoring this fold.

109-scrap-detail-440w-notime.jpg

I’m trying to capture the glitz here.  My Cotton Scrap is sewn onto Soft Suede SU cardstock which I distressed afer sewing, using my scissor blades.  I like to sew in this meandering fashion because then you don’t have to be so careful that’s it pefect, and that’s good!  Santa’s hair and beard where dazzled up by drawing lines with my Quickie Glue Pen and sprinkling on SU Dazzling Diamonds.  SOOOO pretty IRL.  The envelope is a fun cutout from a pack called Vintage Envelope Sentiments by Flower Soft — PERFECT for that finishing touch!

109-inside-480w-notime.jpg

Here’s the inside.  I adhered Very Vanilla cardstock, used a Cuttlebug die cut corner inside to match the one on the front, and stamped my inside sentiment with one of the centers from Christmas Treasures by JustRite, used on a 3 1/4″ Wood Stamper.  And can you see on the Cotton Scrap panel how I adhered a piece of cardstock to the back to cover up all my stitching lines and give the inside a cleaned up look?  It also served well in this instance as I could sandwich my ribbon between the layers.  This is the only place where the ribbon is attached to the card.  It merely wraps around the card and you tie your bow on the side.  The recipient then has to open the bow to open the card — FUN!!!  I think so anyway.  It gives a bit of a *present* feel to your card.

109-scor-440-notime.jpg

My paper is cut to a standard 1/2 sheet – -5.5 x 8.5″.  I used my Scor-It Mini to score my fold lines.  I scored 1 3/4″ from one edge and 2.5″ from the other edge.  Once folded it gives me the standard A2 size of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4″.

Just Me, My Blog, and I

Published by

First a little talkin’, then on to a simple project.  I’ve been receiving an unusual number of emails lately from people telling me they didn’t know I had the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store buried here in my blog — LOL!!!  Well, I do!  It’s a simple little store you access by clicking the tabs above my blog header.  The emails continue with  the two most asked questions of — where’s the button to click to buy? — when will you have a *real* internet store?  I don’t talk about the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store a whole lot here, other than to link to product I carry, as the main purpose of this blog has been, and always will be, to show you projects with the hope of inspiring you and, on occasion, teaching you a little thing or two — I’m just a low-key kind of gal, I guess. But I will do a little explaining now in answer to the above questions.

Why is there a Stamp Simply Ribbon Store? Well, truthfully, I love to sell things — LOL!!!  Pure and simple.  I have never worked in sales per se in the real world, but have always felt a strong desire to share and help in the realm of my stamping world.  I absolutely love what I do here — creating, sharing, talking with you all and on occasion actually meeting some of you IRL.  The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store actually started with about 10 or 12 striped ribbons this past March.  I loved them, I had a lot, so thought I’d see if any of you wanted some, too.  Well, you did!  They sold out immediately, so I got some more, and some more, and some more — LOL!!!  And I’m still getting more!!!  So those were the beginnings of my simple little store.

Where’s the button to click to buy?  There is none!  Again, my store is small, simple and low key.  Just browse, write your list, and email it to me.  I then send you a PayPal invoice, which gives you a button to click to pay.  Or you can send a check.  Very simple.  Nothing fancy.

When will you have a *real* internet store?  Well, likely never (course, I’ve learned long ago to never say *never*).  But for now — It’s Just Me, My Blog, and I.  It’s not broken, so why fix it?  I like it this way.  I like the communication with my customers.  When customers email me their orders, some like to chit chat a bit, and that’s fun!  Some are down to business, and that’s just fine, too!  It all works, so for now I’m not trying to fix it!

And one last comment I get a lot is — I didn’t know you had so muchWell, I’m glad if anyone thinks I have a lot, but I don’t, really.  All I have is contained on the 3 tabs above my blog header.  But I will tell you one thing about what I have — I HAVE it in my store because it is product I use on a regular basis, it is product that I love, and it is product that has been proven tried and true, by me, time and time again.  I will ONLY list for sale what I use, what I love, and what I know to be a good value. I do design work for a few companies and I’m proud and pleased to be able to offer you the full line of products by both JustRite and Scor-It, both of whom I design for.  The full line of JustRite is not shown in my store at this point, but more is coming regularly and I can get anything for you in 2-3 days time, so it’s not a problem.  I also am so proud to carry products by Crafty Secrets, and I think anyone whose been to my blog before knows how much I love the Cotton Scraps and Journal Notes, and there’s more Crafty Secrets coming soon, too!!!  And I routinely add in other tools and supplies that to me are essentials!  And, of course, the May Arts ribbons that grace just about every project I do — could NOT live without them.  And I do add different types of ribbons regularly — just can’t control myself there!!!

Anyway, enough about that — now, let’s move on to my project for today – just a simple  and quick Christmas card because, at least for me, I need a lot of cards at Christmas, and simple is the ONLY way to go — so my Journal Notes to the rescue, once again. They have 32 pages of images in themed booklets, so that equates to a lot of easy projects!

vintage-girls-360w-wm-notime.jpg

Darling vintage girls that just begged for a pop of color today!  My Velvet Zig Zag Ribbon and colorful buttons do the trick!  Buttons are sewn onto the panel with Jute String (easy, just place your button, punch holes with a piercer and use a large-eyed needle with the Jute String — sews on in seconds with the holes pre-punched).  My Make it Merry and Bright sentiment was perfect here today.  To make it quick I punched the center with my 1 1/4″ SU punch, and the frame is Nestie cut. I used VersaFine Vintage Sepia Ink.   The sentiment is from one of the new JustRite Christmas releases, A Merry Little Christmas:

a-merry-little-christmas-360-420.jpg

Here’s the full set for you to see — it has 10 centers and 10 borders, giving you a ton of variety and options.  It fits the 1 5/8″ stamper, which is the original stamper so many of you have with your monogram kits.  Or you can purchase a stamper separately if you don’t have one.  And the good news is, I have this set available for purchase right now, with immediate shipment — no waiting!  You can see it on this page, just scroll down a bit.  I have more coming for Christmas real soon, so check back in often.

You are my Sunshine!

Published by

I can just hear my Dad singing that old song!  And that’s exactly what I thought of and heard in my head the entire time I was making this cheerful and sunny yellow card.  I wanted to make this card tonight because I just got some new colors of silk ribbon and I loved this soft and buttery golden yellow color.  I immediately thought of this sunflower image on my Cotton Scraps, and away I went:

sunshine-480-wm-notime.jpg

Isn’t it just so sunny and cheerful?  I love it!  The image is intentionally off to the left a bit to provide more room for the generous bow done in the 100% Silk Ribbon.  A very simply done card, so similar to many I do.

Can you see the Flower Soft I used on the center of the Sunflower?  I used Nut Brown and it adds so much texture IRL – wish you could see it!  Also a closer look at my ribbon/bow.  It’s a double looped bow made on the Bow Easy.

I’m so glad you stopped in today — I truly appreciate it when you do!  I’ll be busy the next couple days getting a few posts ready for this week and adding some fun new things to the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I’ve added a Page 3 (above my blog header) where I’ll include a few of my most favorite stamping supplies and some other fun things!  I  also have plans to put kits there and other fun seasonal items.  So though I  am just working on it now, plan to check there from time to time to see what is new and what is changing.  Items on Page 3 will change much more frequently than on the other pages.  Anyway, thanks so much for stopping in!  Truly appreciate it!
